Dorrance mentioned at his press conference that the AD had said to him: "Anson, you have to protect your legacy." That is a pretty obvious suggestion....
They have been awful in the first few games- a couple of the coaches in the conference are hoping the staff keep their jobs so that tells you everything you need to know. They will need a massive turnaround to not be in the hot seat which doesn’t seem likely.
@WSOCFan said: ↑ It is strange to see the ad up there for UNC. Maybe collect some resumes just in case? Some State schools require an ad but not in the national NCAA market where they know it will be the top and only active d1 ad for days, maybe weeks. Maybe some cya for the AD. Can say we didn't get a strong candidate pool due to the timing and helps with the DN hire. There are some strong UNC alums who would be interested you would assume. UMD comments. Would like to see their non-conference SOS compared to other P4s, or even their own in previous years. The correlation between non-conf SOS and contract status or just temp of the seat! Hard to measure that maybe but entire staff turnover and crap schedule combo is telling. They are supposed to win the local games for sure.
Can you see many qualified and experienced coaches being interested in the Maryland job or other jobs like Syracuse, Kansas State, Oregon State, etc? Seems like these jobs always lead to a dead end for the coach.
yes because the money and associated camps can be life changing for a mid major coach (maybe not KSU, but the others)

You do a great job of keeping track of all of this and curious where you saw the MS Valley State is open as well shouldn't North Carolina and Cal Poly both with interim coaches be on this list?
I used to think that I had a good pulse on the soccer scene in Chicagoland but with work issues and just the everyday busyness of life, I haven't been in the loop so much lately. I'm still disappointed for Barry at Loyola. Has there been anymore about what happened that caused his abrupt firing?
the Mississippi Valley website, on the soccer roster page shows Lembrechts as head coach, but in the staff directory does not, showing only a volunteer assistant. Plus, on Twitter, she indicates her visa has expired, which apparently means she cannot coach.
What is happening at Lamar? Are they beginning to struggle now the old staffs athletes are graduating and they are beginning to rely on their own recruits? While not expected to beat A&M the score line of both that game and Denver is lopsided.
Cal Poly? Unless I missed in from the offseason, not familiar with this…also, not DI? North Carolina was unintentionally missed from this list. I just didn’t go to a more recent to update.

Cal Poly is D1, in the Big West Conference. Here is the release about Alex Crozier, one of the long-time head coaches, retiring following the current season.

Could be a good reason. Lots of coaches ride the coat tails of the previous coaches success before their true recruiting/coaching kicks in.
Holy crap! That's pretty wild! Peter Veltri has been there for EVER! https://purpleeagles.com/news/2024/8/27/niagara-announces-womens-soccer-leadership-change.aspx The above just announces the change in leadership. Anyone know any details? P.S. At least his last game was a win.

If this isn’t voluntary it’s truly sad. A great man I have always enjoyed my interactions with him over the last couple decades
Dang, I think I'm old til I read these comments coming from you cats! I did not know this one personally but there has to be a story and hope it's not real bad news. It is interesting how long he worked at that level in D1 women's soccer. It's getting more and more rare to see that.
