Has unc hired their interim? If they havent I reckon NC State may snatch him up. Anyone know whats going on with that? And is State coach on chopping block?
Don’t want to put out all the business but the HC got himself in hot water. The interim has been assistant there on 2 stints and is a local club director. Credit to admin for keeping the HC situation under wraps.
Bhatacharjee at Binghamton would be a great candidate for bigger schools as well. Took a program with zero history of success and now competes for conference championship every year. Has big school/big conference experience in his past and from the northeast. Would think a school like Syracuse or Maryland would like his resume.

Thanks Ponchat. Oregon should have happened last year after they went winless https://goducks.com/news/2024/10/29...esigns-as-head-coach-of-oregon-soccer-program
From my understanding he didn’t leave Syracuse on the most gracious terms and not the most likable person but I agree he has done pretty well at Binghamton. I don’t think anyone is surprised about Oregon.
I heard early in the season that he was told they were not going to hire him and planned to hire a female. Who knows what will happen now. If that is true and he is passed over, who are the likely candidates for that job? Tracey Leone arrived there in the summer...
Florida has to be on the hot seat. Not made the SEC tournament in any of her 3 seasons now. Team has got no better. UF should be competing at least in the tournament. Thoughts?
In her defense, the last time Florida was really Florida was something like 2017. Been down for awhile now. I do think the constant harping on "Student, Person, Player" might actually turn off some number of the very best recruits who might want to put the "player" part at the forefront. But maybe it wins them some others, idk.
I agree that they have not been a top team for a while now, but 3 conference win's in her 3 seasons is no where near good enough. I would imagine she may get given another year but a team like Florida should be at least at minimum making the tournament.
Florida AD has bigger fish to fry. Women’s soccer is on the back burner for now. Another season with no conference tournament and things may be very different. Expect a Mickey Mouse schedule next year to make that record look “really good”. Florida hall of famer support and presence can only go so far and buy you so much time.
Agree with this for a lot of the jobs. ADs are not thinking about Women's Soccer at all unless there is a major problem off the field. The NCAA court case and July 1 changes, along with Football, are main issues.
Here is Chris Henderson's CoachRank from last year, gives you some ideas of Mid Major coaches that may be targeted. He's probably on the list if A&M opens up. I wonder if they'd hire a D1 asst instead of a current D1 HC, but he's got the resume' and Texas recruiting connections that A&M seems to have lost over the years.
The problem is not non conference. Any AD at that level is expecting conference success. Got to win SEC games. Teams like Alcorn do nothing for her. You win 6 SEC games and you are 10-4-3 and in tournament.

Uh....it was a joke, and well-played at that @Soccerboy23 . UF will not be putting Alcorn on! But I did hear that a home and home with Florida's first trip to Itta Bena could be in the cards....
Add Weber State to the officially open list. A sophomore just went into the portal due to head coach departure.
