Do they? Ngl whenever Panama plays in the states they don't really pack the stadiums like Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador fans do.
Ugh, yikes. At least the CSA will find it even harder to justify promoting Biello to permanent head coach. CR or T&T in the play-in I guess, I'm sure we'll find a way to make that a nailbiter either way...
Mexico had 20 shots on goal, and led 2-0 hosting Honduras after 90 and 120 minutes. Mexico won penalty kicks 4-2. Flash Score changed Mexico's fourth kick from failed to success. I did not see it, and I wonder if the goalkeeper moved forward too soon to give the kicker another chance. Wikipedia says the Semifinals are seeded based on the Quarterfinals. Mexico does not get credit for a goal from the penalty kick win, which is how I think it should be done. That makes Mexico the 4 seed. If Mexico got credited with a goal for the penalty kick win, they would have faced USA. The pairings are 1 seed Panama vs. 4 seed Mexico, and 2 seed USA vs. 3 seed Jamaica. The Semifinals are March 21, the Final and Third Place Game are on March 24, and all games are in Arlington, Texas, USA.
So everything is set.. Final Four: Mexico vs Panama Jamaica vs USA Copa America Play-Offs: Honduras vs Costa Rica Canada vs Trinidad and Tobago
Every time you think you've seen it all, this confederation manages to up the ante to the most unthinkable levels of absurd.
Mexico equalizes in the 11th minute of 9 added. Mexico keeper off his line without review, while Honduras keeper is carded. Plenty of grist for the conspiracy mill in that game. We came close to three of the four seeded teams losing their QF. Amazing.
All audio from the Nov 21/2023 post game press conference of the CONCACAF QFinal of Canada vs Jamaica played in Toronto. Coaches Heimir Hallgrimsson, Mauro Biello and players Mark Anthony Kaye, Stephen Eustaquio, and Jonathan David http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports23/23cana06.htm
Hard to blame them when the confederation's whole operating budget (read: Montagliani's hotel room and restaurant bills) depends on Mexico selling out Jerryworld at the final 4 in March
Your right. We should just admit that El Tri fans revenue is too significant and give Mexico a bye to the semi-finals of Nations League each year. Let all the other teams playoff for other three spots. I’m actually serious about that — though I don’t think it would be given serious consideration.

Concacaf has published the group stage schedule: Concacaf announces match schedule for 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League🔗Read more: https://t.co/XVkjST2PF3— Concacaf Nations League (@CNationsLeague) May 23, 2024 It's noteworthy that in League B, the top seeds are spared from having to play a single away game - that is, when they're visiting other centralized locations in September and October, they're never tasked with facing the host team. Also, I'm a bit confused by this part of the press release: That is, why announce the order of top seeds as set in stone when the Regulations (see Art. 12.10) state that their QF placements will be determined by the October 2024 rankings?
So in September and October the USMNT is playing Canada, Mexico and Panama. Feels like CONCACAF should just work out a Premier 8 team CONCACAF Nations League for Sept/Oct/Nov instead of having the top 4 in League A get a bye. If this was part of Nations League/Gold Cup Qualifying they could play the same games and get more FIFA points
This month's first game was Turks and Caicos Islands 0-2 Anguilla. That is notable because Anguilla is the second worst team in the FIFA Rankings, and the only team behind them is San Marino, which is a tiny country in UEFA. Turks and Caicos Islands is 206th, which is 3 spots above Anguilla. It was Anguilla's first win over a member of FIFA since a 2-1 win over British Virgin Islands in England on January 27, 2022. It was Anguilla's 102nd game according to https://www.eloratings.net/Anguilla which says their first game was in 1985, and their second game was in 1990. Today's other scores were U.S. Virgin Islands 3-3 Bahamas, and Cayman Islands 1-0 British Virgin Islands. According to https://www.eloratings.net/Bahamas it was Bahamas' 79th game, and it was the first time they played a game in which both teams scored at least 3 goals. According to https://www.eloratings.net/US_Virgin_Islands it was U.S. Virgin Islands' 73rd game, and it was the first time they played a game in which both teams scored at least 3 goals. I wonder when the previous time any two national teams played a game in which both teams scored at least X goals and neither team had previously played a game in which both teams scored at least X goals.
what's wrong with my life... just watched 1st half of El Sav/Mont and then 2nd half of Guy/Sur. I need help.
Vibe in Guyana looked super fun.. that Montserrat stadium was um... well. but the camera view was amazing.
Lots of new construction (or abandoned worksites) next to Stade Municipal Dr. Edmard Lama in French Guiana. Prime property ha! Not one NCA player is over 5'6" it seems. Some scrappy stuff this. Decent pitch considering, grass a bit high though. Hone crowd out of camera view but they sound fairly vocal. 0-1 FG vs Nicaragua. Goal in extra time.. for some unknown reason FG playing down a man instead of bringing in a sub for an injured player. Horrendous manager decision.
Interesting to see how many of these games are being played in neutral locations. Assuming their home stadiums aren't up to standard? but would seem to cost more for the host country to rent at neutral location and fly team there. Estadio Centroamericano de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico hosting a double header today. (Sint Maarten/Aruba and then PR/Haiti)
Leagues B and C are all playing at centralized locations so that teams play both games in the window in the same place. Past Nations Leagues have had some difficulties for teams finding flights to get from one tiny island to another between games. The hosts will rotate for each window.
