I'm going on my faulty memory, but didn't we one year under Stahre go undefeated in preseason and lose like the first 5 real games?
The critical difference between that Stahre year and this year is that Stahre will not be coach this year .
Just saw a tweet that Nathan injured his ACL (right knee) against Monterey. Anyone know how bad injury is?
Crap just saw this in the Nathan thread. SAN JOSE, Calif.– San Jose Earthquakes defender Nathan suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee during last Saturday’s preseason friendly against USL Championship side Monterey Bay F.C. Nathan will undergo surgery in the coming weeks and is out indefinitely.
OK our hopes for an improved back 5 now rely on Munie or Ågren somehow short-circuiting 4 years of needed D1 defensive experience, Akapo finally being able to play, Trauco somehow getting 20% faster at age 30, and Daniel regularly making superhuman saves. I think we’ll be fine!
Remember when Jimmy G was hurt and the Niners had to rely on a rookie QB picked last in the draft, and people here wondered if their season was over, and yet they went on to win 12 in a row? Remember, I immediately said the Niners were going to be fine? Quakes are going to the playoffs this year.
Is Muma still in the area? Not sure he can still play but I assume the stare is still there. Please don't play Yueill or Judson as CB. Also, I don't like the idea of Beason as starter. Will Argen or Munie step up? Is that enough? Now if we sign a CB from another MLS teams, likely the guy will be their backup. Is he more capable as a starter than our existing CBs?
