Finally in the 5 o'clock presale. Nothing left but $800+ club seats, and very few of those.

We have a 20,000 seat stadium without the ability to add temporary seating. Recall, HCS was also around 20K (it was pared back over time), but with extra seating could be ramped up into the 25K range for a big match (like USA-Mexico).

the Crew have, for the first time in its history, been selling out that 20K stadium week after week. But for this match, thousands of tickets won’t be available for Crew fans to buy. They’ll go to LAFC, league sponsors, a big contingent from MLS proper. There are lots of other mouths to feed. And so for the first time since we hosted USA-Mexico (but in a very different way) we have a huge supply/demand problem. Of course thousands of Crew fans are going to be pissed off. They always would be, since there are thousands of fewer seats than there are fans who want to attend. And that supply/demand disparity is resulting in some absurd ticket pricing.

I bought a membership in February and even bought tickets through Nordecke.com in the past, so I dutifully logged into my nordecke.com account to try to buy into the lottery and got a "this item is unavailable" error. Any idea what's going on @LaMacchia ?

I was able to get through the wait list and get into the site. I was wondering if they had to stop selling lottery slots for some reason, like maybe they didn't receive an allocation of tickets from MLS.

It's a 24 hour lottery window - you don't have to log in right when it opens. The drawing isn't until tomorrow afternoon.

I feel dirty but also just bought through stubhub. I missed both 2008, 2015, (2020 wasnt really and option for most) and will be damned if I miss this one.

230 bucks in service fees Ouch.

I am trying to make my peace about this calamity of ********ery. But anyone who is trying to act like “well today was a success or that it the way the cookie crumbles or free market bullshit” can seriously get fckt.

You can believe in the free market and tickets being sold for ridiculous prices and praising fans for Really wanting to be at the stadium while ALSO acknowledging that something went down today that was entirely shitty.

I am sorely tempted to dig up that old lecturing gorilla pic but I'm not in the mood.

Nonetheless: We're all big people here and we need to face reality.

That 23sponsor code release gave buyers the ability to buy up to 20 tickets. Then they used "scalper bots" ( I have no idea how that works but I'm sure many of you do) to take it from there. Whenever they released a chunk of tickets they were only up for seconds before the bots snapped.them up.

Regular fans never had a chance. The bots are faster than we are and can somehow get to the front of the Line. We've all been royally ass raped.

The league screwed this up. They're brainless, incompetent clowns, and their partner Ticketmaster has no reason to give a shit. They get theirs either way.

What we're left with is simply this:

The only way to get in to this game is by paying the scalpers their pound of flesh. Yes it sucks, but there it is. It's the reality.

There was a show on...I think it was Vice Network where they talked to the guy who basically created bots. Not surprisingly, he made a fortune and got out.

One way they work is this: You're in front of me in line. There's a ticket limit per card. You buy the max tickets allowed...and then pull out a second card while I'm still in line.

    Wamp.

A lotto with non-transferable tickets is basically the only way to do it. Put them right into people's accounts. Of course, they'll be tempted to use burner accounts, but IF/WHEN the tickets can go into a Crew account, that's slightly better than a generic account.

MLS should get sued for this BS. I got 5 on stubhub but had to pay what I consider double the reasonable amount. If sponsors need 2000 or 5000 fine. Let the teams allocate the rest as they see fit. For sponsors to buy team season ticket holder tickets, that’s just a failure.
Yes our stadium is too small. In 2018 you couldn’t give these tickets away. Now look what we have done.

And yet, TicketBa$tard thought a number of *us* were bots. Hard to believe.
