Yes I think so too and he is in absolutely top form. Better to stay and convince things + Wolfsburg has 4 strikers, many of them are young and also big talents and there is the question if that is the optimal place to grow. I say no.

Looks like the Deal will be done soon. Hasebe was at Wolfsburg to watch the game against St.Pauli and after there was some medial showcase with Hasebe and the Staff of Wolfsburg.

He was asked about Shogai and he recommended Wolfsburg to buy Shiogai, that he is a huge talent and on other side has contact to Shogai, that Wolfsburg is the ideal club for him to grow. After those interview Shogai already told Nijmegen that he wants to leave for Wolfsburg.

The fee is around 10 Million €. Let's wait and see. I like him to stay at Nijmegen but on other hand when so many people do such an effort, it looks that they really really want him, then maybe it's a good thing ?

  3. In the Eredivisie talents are allowed to make mistakes. In the top leagues not. You deliver or your spot is given to someone who does.

Hasebe is like 1 of the U21 coaches for Eintracht Frankfurt, him recommending Wolfsburg (another Bundesliga club) to buy Shiogai is interesting...

Wonder how do Eintracht Frankfurt FC feels about it?

He ist the Co-Coach for the U-21 like for JNT. Hasebe is a legend in Wolfsburg and still takes care of his friendship to the club. From other side is also the same, he visit then here and there. He was there, over 5 years. I think Frankfurt is his first love but also Wolfsburg is in his heart and both clubs appreciate his doing.

Frankfurt bought 2 strikers some days ago, so I think there was no need for another one and that was the reason he talks with Wolfsburg cause in the first place he would offer that to Frankfurt :).

Frankfurt said some months ago that his work for the JNT is always in Place 1 for them and that this is more important than his work at Frankfurt and they will fully support him in both stages. Maybe the Shiogai thing was some future JNT thought or so.

Good that he is prioritising JNT, but I personally hoped that he would put in more time with Frankfurt U21 to eventually become their coach/manager 1 day and open the route for J Leagues managers/coaches in Europe.

Not sure if Has-been becoming manager of Frankfurt or any other European clubs in future is viable?

Hasebe said his main goal is becoming Manager of the Seniors of Frankfurt one day and I think he will.

But becoming Manager of the JNT, maybe soon after the WC would be also very cool, wouldn't it ? But I wouldn't be surprised if Hasebe become Frankfurt Manager next season if they continue like this ? I mean they still play a good season somehow but those crazy amount of goals they conceded are not that good and can cost the international football at the end.

After german sources the deal is done and will be announced in the next days. Mixed feeling about that. Cause I think it's to early for him but the story how much they want him feels good of course.

And 10 million€ is a huge amount. Hope he could develop further there but for him and his WC chances it would be good to stay until the season is over. But who knows when he explode in Wolfsburg, would be even better.

    Seems almost done to Wolfsburg.
I don't think it's early for him, it's the best striker Japan has produced in the last years after Ueda...
10 millions is relatively low given he has done insane numbers this season. Possible just because it's NEC.

No it was a release clause in his contract they made when the bought him. But yeah normally he would be higher and I agree, think also to early. But let's see.

  11. Nope, it was in his contract that NEC has to release him if 10 million was offered, and the player wants it.

"Cool" yes. But probably "too early". He is young. Better to experience in a Top League training his team for a whole season to learn the job.

NEC gained two points to number three Ajax on Saturday evening. The Nijmegen team gave away a lead twice against NAC Breda, but struck in the absolute final phase of the spectacle.

I know, so what is "nope"? I don't understand. It's NEC that put that clause...

  15. The nope is for the remark "it's low because it's NEC". It was what the player wanted in the contract, if NEC wanted to sign him.
So it was either accept that clause (that when a club offers at least 10 million and the player wants to leave, NEC can't refuse him his transfer) or not sign him.
Wolfsburg was keen to get him now, before other clubs would become interested too and came with offers too, with probably a higher transfer fee too.

Is Kodai Sano's right foot his stronger foot? And if so how did he pull off that shot with his left foot? That's very impressive

What a goal + he assist another one. Really really good season. Maybe we need the 2 Sano brothers in the CDM/CM.

Sorry, yeah his right foot is his strong one.

  20. Full time cup match NEC - FC Volendam:

57' Another shot by Kodai Sano!
This time, the ball goes on the wrong side of the post on the other side of the goal. NEC is getting stronger.
