Its not normal. From quality he is pure class and should be a starter in any team.

He had a bad giveaway just outside the box before being subbed out, but I think it had more to do with Liverpool needing goals. Mac Allister is much better on the offensive side, so not sure how you can argue with that substitution. Their only goal before the subs was a lucky PK when the ball was already going out.

How did mc allister perform then? Did he score? Assist? Make some threats? Did something remarkable?

Dunno I don't watch the entire game which is in the middle of the night Japan time, believe it or not. But most ratings give him a 6 and endo a 4-5. And what is your point anyway? They are both still new to Liverpool but if you saw Mac Allister for Brighton or Argentina you'll know what I'm talking about.

Here are some of the ratings fyi:

    Wataru Endo 5

Appeared half-a-yard short in the opening exchanges and too often gave the ball away. A difficult night. Subbed.

    Wataru Endo - 5.5

Had a mostly anonymous evening when Liverpool needed somebody to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

    Wataru Endo – 5
Completed just 81.6 percent of his passes and made only one tackle as the game largely passed him by.

His task was not made any easier by the fact the team as a whole was not at its best, but the Japan international will need to take these opportunities if he is to become a starter.

    Wataru Endo - 5
Didn’t offer enough protection in the first half and untidy on the ball at times. Subbed in the 60th minute.

    goal.com:

    Wataru Endo (4/10):

Awful passing, not strong enough defensively and too slow to react a lot of the time.

    liverpool.com :

    Wataru Endō (off 61') — 5/10

Making just his second start for the Reds, Endō was largely anonymous. This game was all about what he could offer in possession, and in truth there wasn't much to write home about before he came off.

    LOSERS

Wataru Endō wasn't able to strengthen his case to start more Premier League games in holding midfield, nor was Ben Doak able to make the right-wing spot his own in the Europa League.

I'm not saying Endo shouldn't start as I think Liverpool are too unbalanced often and can use a more defensive player, but in a match like this he has to have a bigger impact if he's gonna stay on for the full 90 when they are chasing goals.

And Stuttgart is one of the best teams in Germany right now. Scored most goals, 4 wins, 1 lose, place 2 for now.

The only one who fall a little appart is Karazor, Endos replacement. Would be so nice if he would still there.

    But yeah, its still early.

Endo has found his groove with Liverpool: disrupting the other team's forward play. He was a total force on the pitch tonight.

Was very good yesterday. Almost scored at the 5th Minute.

3rd best player on the pitch on whoscored.

Got around 20 mins against Spurs. Liverpool had 2 red cards, so mostly running around for him. But those red cards probably open up for him to start.

Jota and Gakpo out means they lost the first 2 choice for CF position. The last match before the break is vs Mitoma's Brighton, I have a feeling that Pool will lose again, not a good situation for W.Endo to shine and take his spot.

Unbelievable VAR didn't look at the first (disallowed) goal.
The first red card was questionable as well.

He stepped on the ball first and it slipped onto the leg. So not only was it an accident but it would've lost most of the momentum by then.

Endo was quite good today, bossed the DM and almost no mistakes, some clever passes. English media suggest, he was subbed at HT cause he will start against Brighton together with Gravenberch.

By the way Endo won (like always) the most duells of all Liverpool middlefielders till now in his time for the reds. Sounds good to me. And thats with that "limited" gametime.

I don't think Endo was brought in to be the starter player anyway. So from my point of view it is meaningless to see if he starts or not, the situation would be bad if he stopped being involved.

Good evening guys :). Really need to talk again about Endo today. I read maybe 10-15 articles in England and almost every english media was expecting Endo to start today. He gets praise for his last 2-3 games and after the game many people were confused why Endo not starting. A little more confused after MC Alisters very average performance today.

For me Endo has the quality to be a starter in any team of the world if you let him. But I have the feeling that in Liverpool apart from 6-7 players almost nobody is a starter. More like a part job player. You start, play 50-60 minutes, next game bench, subbed in for 15-20 min, start, unused sub and so on.

Its still early but I hope Endo make his way cause he deserved it.
I mean the reason he wins the most duells of all Liverpool middlefielders must stand for something. I would say mainjob for a CDM.

And that he won the most aerial duells + second most duells of the hole Bundesliga when you count his last 4 years is really insane. He is a destroyer and a beast. He is really really good and I would love that Klopp start him 3-4 games in a row over 70-90 Minutes.

Kind of ironic now that Stuttgart is a top team. Once the captain left..
