Subbed out at 63th ? I thought Van Persie will let him on the pitch until he died, to gave him the chance to score.

Possible yeah, now it's really strange and worrying. You mean yesterday, he had chances to score ? I didn't watch ^^.

    Haha ^^, made my day.

  4. FC Twente - Feyenoord
A tough match. The home match was narrowly a draw, while FC Twente missed an unbelievable amount of chances.
With both chadersfor the 2nd spot NEC and Ajax dropping 3 and 2 points, we start of with a nice cushion, but it could be decisive if we win this match.

Yepp no goal again. He should have had 25+ goals by now. Long time since i saw i big dip like this after a fantastic start.

Yeah very strange. Funny thing is he is still miles ahead of place 2 at the goalscorers. But there must be a way to score again. Big physiological barriers + the teams overall chemistry doesn't help. They look very slow with no ideas. Against every half decent team they lose for sure at the moment.

Ueda is done for. Let's hope one of the other europeans fws find their way to score continously.
    3 months left.

What ?Nothing is done ^^. It's not like it's the end of the world and 1 goal could change everything. Still 4 months to the WC. Everything can happen.

It's not that he's done for but it's a concern that his form dropped off like this. Ueda is vital for Japan because the other options are either too inexperienced or are a big drop off from Ueda.

Big concern. He is the main striker. And has not scored for ages. Worrying for both Japan and Feyenoord.
Specially after his fantastic start. I thought this would be his break through. And bigger clubs would buy him. But unfortunately he still is the old Ueda.

That's it. Ueda turned back to what he was and always been: average japanese FW who simply can't score enough.

I think it's dumb as things stand to keep planning a WC starting lineup with him as the main striker. Anyway we played in 2010 w/o a striker at all (Morimoto and Okazaki were subs) and K.Honda as false 9. That was Okada'bet and it worked. Better for Moriyasu to sort off something similar. He can't count on Ueda anymore.

We have a brutal in form Goto, we have a good season Ogawa, we have a solid Maeda, we have a talented Shiogai and Ueda is far from being average with 103 goals in 246 games and to the WC, is still time. To good or to bad of course. When Ueda starts scoring 10 goals in the rest of the season nobody will complain about those 12 games without scoring.

Is a Ueda in a big crisis ? Yes of course! But overall FW position never looked better for the JNT. Sure you can argue they lacking experience but in form is also an argument.

I agree. Japan have options. But yes they dont have the experience and at a wc level i dont think they will score alot. Maeda has. But he is not a scoringmachine. Not this season

Ueda is still important even if he hasn't been scoring recently. His hold up play is good and he is adept with aerial challenges. He's well established as number one striker so the team works well with him as number 9.

Ogawa and Machino are lesser options to Ueda and have had far less integration in a Japan XI. Goto is promising but is physically weaker and inexperienced. Shiogai is also inexperienced and doesn't even start much. Maeda is a squad player, not a starter. He's not got the finishing ability as a top striker.

So yes even if Ueda isn't scoring much he has to start for Japan. Moriyasu has planned his established starting XI for the last few years as Ueda no.1 striker. If Ueda does not start for Japan then there will be trouble.

Yes he did and I also hope that they will beat Ajax.

Van Persie said in an interview before the game against Breda, that he isn't worry about Ueda that he hasn't scored about 10+ games cause he was in a similar situation when he was at United 12/13 when they were champions and he scored 30 goals in all competitions. There was a phase where he also has a scoring drought over 10 games.

I liked it, that he went into it, that detailed to back up Ueda.

  24. Yeah, the support Ueda has at Feyenoord is something you can't see from that far away. As I posted iirc two years ago, when in here doubts about Ueda being valued/appreciated were ventilated I already posted about both Slot and van Persie being very positive about him.
The only ones trying to shit him are those dubious sites/"pundits", who are always looking for clicks by making the most imbecil remarks.
As I posted before he's loved by the fans and very much valued by the coaches at Feyenoord, he had.

Edit: I guess he told Ayase that about himself too, so It must have been reassuring your coach, being one of the best strikers the world ever has seen, tells you "don't worry, I've been there myself, have seen it before".
That must be a burden taken off your shoulders.
