It's a bit odd, but coming sunday I see a 50/50 chance of win for both Ajax and Feyenoord, something a week or 3 ago would be unthinkable. The reason isnot Ajax performing better, they arenot, but Feyenoord, despite displaying good football, has the last months shown they only last 70 minutes a match. I've been banging on about this already in the Feyenoord forum, but here are the stunning facts: Of the eighteen goals that Feyenoord conceded in the Eredivisie this season, almost half came in the last ten minutes of the match: seven. This is according to figures from FootyStats. In the Europa League, five of the total of thirteen goals against fell in the last ten minutes. Two more are added if we look at the last fifteen minutes of a match. Seven, more than half of the total number of goals conceded. Thus, numerically speaking, ten months after Priske's dismissal, little progress seems to have been made at Feyenoord. With two more matches in the Europa League to go, the Rotterdammers still have a small chance of qualifying for the intermediate round. Although it remains to be seen whether Van Persie will be able to pull Feyenoord out of the current crisis in a short time. So to be sure Feyenoord can't lose in the last 10 minutes we need to be ahead with 3 goals
Yes but to be fair Ueda harldy can't do anything. He was very very lively and active but when you didn't get any balls you hardly score. That's a problem overall from Feyenoord in the bigger games. They create apart from Uedas 2 small chances nothing. And for a striker it's very hard when you get 0 balls. I watched the game and Feyenoord were very uncreative in terms of chances. They have 18 shots but from feeling I would say they have 0. That says all.
Well well. Ouf of the cup. In january out of EL. I hope Ueda will not lose his starting spot by spring.
What are you talking about ^^ ? He didn't score for 3 game, totally normal phase but also very important to assist goals, which makes him a more complete striker and more useful for the team. Till now, there is nothing to worry. When he didn't score about 7-10 games we can talk again.
He was bloody awful against SC Heerenveen. I rated him with a 4! He lost almost every duel. Edit: It was very generous of van Persie to let him on the pitch the full 90 minutes. I would have swapped him in the break.
I watched the game also. I would say he was good. Not as good as the last games before but from pure ratings he got overall a 7/10 too. For example whoscored and sofascore rated him very highly. Also the german commentators praised him, that he is vital and very supportive today for his teammates. He assisted the the 1-0 and they were close to win the game. But yeah I get your point, it was not his best game, that's right and it's totally legit to see it another way. They are arguments for it.
Not always , I would say around 50/50. Often we see it the same way. Maybe I see more levels between good and bad. For example "bloody awful" is almost impossible to get for me. And a 4/10 is quite average when 5/10 is the meaning of average, so that doesn't work for me. Bloody awful is a 1-2/10 for me. In Uedas case, you could say he is a 5-6/10 but for example you can clearly see they are also arguments for a good rating like 7 when whoscored/sofascore rated him that high and also the german football commentators on DAZN and on other hand I also see that this way. A Takuma Asano is often bloody awful for me. Remember his game against Bahrain at the Asian Cup when he comes in ? That was awful. Maybe I am too optimistic some times, I understand what you mean. But on other side I have sometimes the feeling, there is only super good or super bad and I say they are many different floors between that. Ueda doesn't play that good, but when you assist a goal and try your best/be very active even if you lose many duells etc, you could have a "good" game for my terms. And even in those bad games, he produces scorerpoints, that's a huge quality also and that what makes top players.
Edit: Sorry my bad, sofascore gave him a 6,3 so more in average direction, my bad. I was in the car when I wrote that and looked wrongly on the ratings .
Fine but he MUST keep or return to this season standard in June no matter what. A Ueda top scorer of Eredivisie doesn't give us anything good if he will fail against dutch, tunisian and UEFA side defences at WC.
Yup, a bad match doesnot mean he sucks. I think this is my first negative post about him, but I'm honest in my comments. When he's good he gets the rep, when he sucks, he gets the opposite.
