That strategy isn't helped by the fact that there are only 4 games on the break.

4D chess... Meaning we may end up with 4 draws during that period.

Where is the dotted line to sign on? I'd take that!

What's the word on Ndenbe's recovery?

6 months out from an ACL tear, this would be the absolute soonest you could even consider him returning. I'd guess there's at least another 3 months before we even think about him returning to the field.

Bringing the discussion here for a topic from the Illig/PV piece, these are the players that are out of contract and on options this offseason that was mentioned in the piece.

    FWIW here are the 18

    OOC: Melia, Russell, Fontas, Walter
Option: Cisneros, Pierre, Ndenbe, Voloder, Tzionis, Agada, Thommy, Flores, Rindov, Castellanos, Afrifa, Bassong, Rodriguez, Schewe

That leaves the following under contract:
Salloi, Fernandez, Shelton, Pulido, Davis, Radoja, Leibold, Rosero, Vargas.

That is the4 book, but there have been rumors he is way ahead of sched, right? OTOH, being ahead at one point does not mean you finish ahead. Lotta setbacks

OOC: Do we resign Walter? Pick up an option, sure. If we reduce his wages on the back of an injury, okay. The rest of OOC, former SKCers.
Option: Pick up maybe Logan, Agada if he remains cheap. Thommy.
Bitch about not being able to dump: Salloi, Fernandez, Shelton, Pulido, Leibolds.

I think we keep Walter if we can do so affordably.

Definitely keep Thommy and Ndenbe, Rodriguez too. Guys like I'm Agada I'm okay hanging on to. But a fair few of those options guys look designed to be squad depth, which is okay, but really depends more on how the rest of the off-season should go.

I still seem to be more patient with Salloi this season than many. Overpaid, and having as bad a season as anyone on the team, but I think he would really shine again if we put together a more aggressive, fast front line with him. Of course with Pulido ********ing up our budget I guess maybe that's not in the cards, but we'll certainly be in need of a hell of a RW.

I'm generally happy with our midfield, though we need more MLS-level depth than just Memo. The back line needs some work. Keeper and the front line need about as from-scratch as possible. If that means losing Salloi and Russell in the same window, so be it.

For as bad as our CBs have been this year, they sure are the main point of rumors.

That's great if Castellanos gets a chance to sign for Chivas. Really impressive club. Given that his contract option is coming up, there is no way this is an agent generated rumor intended to push the current club in re-upping him.

He must have the same agent as Pulido.

Expected response from SKC regarding the Castellanos rumor.

This seems as relevant to roster building as it does to game management. Someone pointed out that of the bottom row all but one are below the playoff line (and the one just barely above).

I’ve heard a couple of times that SKC has some analytics built into other roles, but that just means it’s not a focus area for anyone. Seems another area that SKC ownership needs to invest just to catch up.

That is some crummy news. The midfield cabinet is bare and Hernandez is a good as gone. Dumb move by Felipe. With Walter and Flores out that leaves the bench empty. I guess in an emergency, Tzone could play the position. And, while SKC are thin at defense, Bassong has played left midfield in the past and could fill in since PV likes to play Shelton as an outside back. This season is just full of surprises.

Shelton at outside back is likely, but not Bassong, but Davis.

I believe it is. At least in KC and MLS.

We’ll likely never get the full story, and not absolving Hernandez on his own, but it does feel like he might have been let down in this regard.
