    Every interim head coach.

Quick question. If the interim head coach wins more games than the previous year head coach, do you sign them up if you are the AD?

It’s a repeat opening. Conference email supposedly went out. Not sure if team knows, will update when it is a little more public or I can confirm team knows.

Oregon- most are surprised this change was not made
Arizona- she talked a big game. can she deliver?
Utah- they will need to show some progress
Syracuse- little to no progress has been shown.
Louisville- one of the best facilities in college soccer. 0 NCAA app since 2018
    Kansas State- do they care?
Iowa State- probably needs to win
Florida- they did not make the conference tournament
    Missouri- need to show progress
NC State- downward spiral after Covid controversy
Illinois- will they let her retire?
    Indiana- see Arizona
Maryland- they didn't score a single goal in the league

I am sure some have a little time. NC State is one to watch. Ever since he pulled o
A question will be, with college athletics going through some major changes, will that make AD's more or less

NC State not even warm despite a down 2023. Not playing COVID Fall, playing limited Spring 2021 when 85% of programs did the same? Hadn't been in NCAAT for two decades before this coach then made 6 in a row (5 past 1st round) and 3 Sweet 16s from 2016-22. And no way the AD paying out a coach signed thru 2027.

Iowa State is safe, he was extended in 2022 through the 2026 season. But the guy sure does fly through assistants.

The question should be: Who’s in the last year of their contract? With departments cutting back and trying to gather NIL dollars for football and basketball, women’s soccer is the last worry for an AD in today’s world!

I’m still really surprised Syracuse and Oregon didn’t make a change last year, so those would have to be the two hottest jobs I would think. Unless they have contracts that go past this season.

Syracuse has gone 18-44-8 overall during Adams’ tenure and an atrocious 3-38-5 in ACC play. I mean how do you win 3 conference games in 5 seasons. She took over a bad program from the Wheddon years and somehow made them even worse. Looking at the recruits and transfers they go for that won’t change anytime soon.

Oregon actually showed signs of life during Abel’s first couple years. Have gone 19-33-21 overall under him, 10-24-10 in the Pac 12 before this upcoming Big 10 move. But the bottom fell out last year going 0-16-3. Don’t understand how a P4 admin keeps a coach that goes totally winless. Would have to show some progress this year. Doesn’t help with the number of outgoing transfers and bad press.

I wouldn’t put Maryland on the hot seat just yet. Year three for her. Inherited a mess left by Leone. Would assume she got a contract of 5-6 years, so would have some time. But would be important to show some progress this season. I do think they need to rethink their strategy, they take transfers from anywhere and everywhere and it’s not panning out. Also lost all her assistants and starting with new ones this season, typically not a good sign as their past assistants didn’t leave for head jobs or better assistant gigs.

Program (Mississippi Valley State) removed from open after a public posting for vacancy, coach retained.

Looks like the outlier in your stats is gone, @cpthomas. I seem to read that the announcement talks about 47 seasons, though? :cautious:
