I doubt it impacts anyone else too much because of the timing, but there will be a coaching change that I’m sure will be announced this week. A mid major coach has been removed… remaining unknown.
From Chris Henderson, and verified by me at the Loyola Chicago website, it appears Barry Bimbi is gone from Loyola Chicago (after having signed a pretty long contract extension) and Angela Staveskie has been named Interim Head Coach, which presumably means for this season. It shows at their website on the roster page as well as in the Loyola Chicago staff directory. SAS Soccer posted a link about two positions coming open this week. That fits with the UC Riverside and Loyola Chicago changes. I wonder if these are the ones that was about.
Love it when folks come on a totally anonymous forum and say "I know something you don't" but don't want to say it. Then someone else says, "Oh, you mean this....." and we can have some discussion. For UCR - Pandemic, UCR almost lost all sports, less money to play with than other D1's for soccer. For Arizona - I think they let 3 assistants go and replaced with Gonzales, who can recruit, assistant coach, be the keeper coach, etc. Maybe a money savings. He is also Puerto Rico National Coach, so may get them some players that way.
Always get while the gettin's good. One can be a good or even great assistant, but average or even bad head coach when it's their philosophy, recruiting strategy, etc that drives the team's success. Not going to rehash the whole conversation* but UCR struggled for years (athletically and financially) before the pandemic. The pandemic just made it worse and more obvious. Which happens first? The 2023-24 Hot Seat thread closes or 2024 Pre-Season camps open? You would think it would be a pretty obvious answer but I'm not so sure right now.
I heard he is allegedly "being investigated for comments made to players" which I realize is extremely vague, but that's all I got. I also heard they aren't looking to hire anyone until after the Fall and the current interim and assistants will be in charge through the season.
West Coast Conference? Gonzaga and San Diego are new. If you count Oregon State as WCC (I don't), they are new. I do not see others who are likely to go. Did you mean Big West rather than WCC?
The San Francisco news release does not say anything about a successor, although this looks like a planned retirement. I am guessing Pinder Nijjar will be the head coach, at least this year, but that is just a guess.

I feel for Barry. He is a great guy and I struggle to see him being inappropriate with comments to anyone. Hope he lands on his feet.
