This Spanish ref was great. It helps that he looks like the zany neighbor in a sitcom.

strong defensively. Could use a little something on offense. job done. credit to egg. might need a little something more against the Dutch than we've seen so far.

I’d rather see Shaquille Oneil suit up than Shaq Moore.

Kudos to Sarge, Tyler and Yunus, both CBs, and Weah and Pulisic. Super performance.

What was Haji Wright's role if not to press and hold up loose balls? If it was to shank half-chances, job well done I guess.

I should be thrilled they advanced, but that second half was so badly mismanaged, it's all I can think about.

I mean, an open match vs an Iran that couldn't bunker and your first non-injury-forced sub was ... Kellyn Acosta. Shaq Moore has been subbed on 2x the rate of Gio Reyna in a World Cup. I can't even, guys.

Why did Berhalter go Defensive so early? H.Wright should not be on this team. With that, we are so much better team than Berhalter can coach! He can't beat a top team because score a goal and then bunker. I am happy though.

    Glad to advance

I'm happy to move on. I didn't expect it. Thought we were 2:1 to go home.

But I have very mixed feelings about the performance, namely because of that survival strategy, for so long. I'd be good w/ it from maybe 85 on, just with different personnel (not Haji, Moore, maybe Acosta, probably sub out CCV).

Maybe I'll appreciate it more as we get further away from it. But wow, there would have been serious inquests if one of those many late chances went in.

    Congratulations to all US fans!

Joined us in the last 16 and I think you have half a chance against Netherlands frankly.

GG on the win boys. Hopefully we both go deep :D

Good first half, pretty bad second half.

Wright and Moore aren't bringing anything to the table.

We'll take it and move on!

Take the time to enjoy it a little bit at least. Yes subs were questionable but in a results oriented tournament, we're in.

Hope Pulisic is alright. Sargent seems done.

Don't like the Reyna drama that is developing.

Egg's style relies on our midfielders to run themselves into the ground (which they like)...which is fine at a club level where games aren't generally this frenetic but we simply are a first half team because of it. We will need at least 2 goals in the first half against the Netherlands I think to be in the game if the Dutch don't lay an egg.

We won that game despite Gregg, not because of him. SHOCKINGLY bad substitutions.

Absolutely. They’re both equally capable of losing a match for us.
