A somewhat healthy DiMaria still has ganas - he can definitely get pass defenders and make penetrating runs. When he is ballin', he is a nightmare to defend and will take up a lot of the defenders with him. A guy like DiMaria opens up a lot of space-.

Her dad was a Videla administration member. Like all of the people from "that" he went on to state that he had no idea what was going on in Argentina at the time. Pretty crazy that everyone else did, but someone working high in the government . . . didn't know. . . how convenient. Obviously she has nothing to do with that, but the irony of 1978 final, no Cryuff and now she's the queen of the Netherland. . . ironic indeed.

His dribbling in this tournament has been extremely good. Did not get a chance to see his speed. Do not remember any long races.

Amazing how durable he has been except for in short cups :(

Someone who left Argentina 30 years ago and married a celebrity in Netherlands. Eh.

Stop with the politics and let's focus on football.

We will be wearing our blue and white shirts with white shorts for this game.

If you read and hear all the expert opinions on the major channels, it seems like we have no chance. “Our ceiling is low, we have the least amount of margin for error, it is 65%-35% for Holland”, etc.

Even Van Gaal is talking quite a bit.

Very true. I don't think he will be able to give 90 mins in any remaining games. The trick will figuring out when to use him; 70 mins in the start, or the last 35 mins as a super sub. This will be very important, imo.

I'm 100% convinced that what is hanging on the balance, which is the most influential to us winning the WC, is DiMaria's play. The dude wins cups for us!! That's what he does

Yo, Morocco is BALLIN' right now against Spain. Good for them, they are fun to watch

"experts" who never watched a single game lmao let them keep their delusions. If Scaloni gets his starting lineup right then there is almost nothing Holland can do

Totally agree with this. If you force a wonderfully creative player like Enzo to play conservatively too often they will eventually lose the skills which make them so special. The wiring in the brain changes and they become a safe player rather than one with wit and imagination. Enzo plays the DM role very well but it’s a waste of his talents and I’d rather he was given more freedom. Let him off the leash Scaloni.

Lets be honest, its gonna be a hard fought match and the most even rival weve faced in this WC. If we are favourites is slightly.

However, if ARG plays like we have been doing under scaloni for the past year and a half....yeah, we should take it

It's not like we have #5 ready who has exquisite passing and has been there throughout the unbeaten run :whistling:

IMO our ceiling is not low because we can play beautiful football and also nullify anyone's attack but we DO have little margin for error in the sense that we have taken too many average or out of form players to this WC that will be useless to win these final matches. Basically we need Scaloni to nail the starting XI otherwise we risk wasting a large part of the match like vs Mexico and Australia but with the added problem that the opponents now can make us pay for it.

I just hope Lisandro is part of that nailed XI. It’s crazy he isn’t a guaranteed starter.

Di Maria on his day is unplayable. Hope he is fit and play cause i think he has big desire to win over Van Gaal.

Ángel Correa and Leandro Paredes were tested for Argentina during Tuesday’s training as Ángel Di María trained with the team.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has started to test players in training as he made two changes to the eleven which started the 2-1 win vs. Australia. Ángel Correa rained in place of Ángel Di María as he had a bib on with Julián Álvarez and Lionel Messi.

Leandro Paredes also had a bib on as he trained in midfield with Rodrigo De Paul and Alexis Mac Allister. These were the eleven players which were tested in training:

Montiel, Otamendi, Romero, Tagliafico; Paredes, De Paul, Mac Allister, Ángel Correa, Álvarez and Messi

Di María was also back training with the team on Tuesday.

I haven’t seen Holland this WC. Can somebody here give a good objective analysis of their team? How good are they? Strengths and weaknesses? Best and worst players etc? How many of their team would make our team do you think? They obviously have a good manager. What is their style of play? Will they bunker?

Wow this is the most horrible thing to imagine playing Brazil without Acuna.

I am not a fan of Scaloni subbing out both fullbacks. It is a waste and actually worsens our defense.

Subs are so important for us, he needs to get them right.
Bringing Licha as a 3rd defender is fine but then I think the focus should be on reinforcing the midfield to maintain control and throw players who can finish the game. Wasting 3 subs on defensive player, and very error prone ones at that in Tag and Montiel, has the opposite effect of your intention literally inviting attacks.

Paredes is the obvious guy to bring on when you’re protecting a lead and losing control of the game. You can’t concede if you have the ball, and Paredes seldom wastes a pass.

I like to think Scaloni has been protecting Acuna a little bit, because he’s been on a yellow and he also exerts a lot of energy running up and down. He has become a vital player for us and he can’t afford to get booked in this game. If he does get booked (and we win) I would prefer to see Licha take his place. Licha has played LB before.

Both DiMaria and Enzo have been part of the NT training. If they are not part of the squad, it won't be because of an injury. Which means, highly doubtful, imo.
