It'll come down to money. I'm sure there's gonna be prize money and incentives for winning and advancing in the competition. Can't really blame players for not going all out in friendlies. Why risk injury for a game that doesn't count and pays peanuts. People respond
That may be due to our players reaching different leagues. MLS, Brazil and Peru are new markets for our players. I felt like before players were going alot to MX due to lack of options. I would like to see Turkey and Russia pick more of our players up. I feel like we are close to opening up those markets.
I just think that our players are very cheap compared to Brazilians in Brazil too and also teams doing better in the international stage helps out a little bit.
Hey Homies, just stopping by to wish you guys a Happy New Year.2022 will it suck as 2020,2021,??we will find out!
Happy New Year to you too! Hopefully we clinch a 2022 WC spot guys, would be a fun December! and this forum would stay a lot more active
Happy New Year, gents!!!! Greetings from Quito. Regrettably, I got COVID while visiting, but things are 100% fine. The vax/boosters work! Looking forward to a great 2022 and seeing some awesome contributions from our brethren as well as hopefully experiencing some great club and NT successes from our guys.... SALUDOS!!!! Stay safe and healthy - best wishes to your family.
Yea bro,me too caught it the week before Xmas, that Omicron spread like wildfire in NYC,but the vaxx kept the symptoms to a mild fever. It was crazy, all of the sudden everyone I knew was catching it,thank god most were vaxxed and didn’t have any serious symptoms.unlike the son of one of my friend’s who is an anti vax,and guess who had all the crazy ass symptoms for a longer time,my fever lasted 2 days and only came on at night.
I got covid right before new years it ruined all my plans. But yea the symptoms weren't that bad it was like a regular flu with alot of headaches and fatigue.
Glad you guys are hanging in there and on the mend. I'm about 95% recovered and the worst part was just isolating for so long. Other than that, VERY mild. Stay healthy!!!!
I'm not so sure about this game. Liga Pro and MLS players last played a competitive match months ago. Liga mx players would have played approximately 3 matches by then. The omicron variant can also throw a wrench into things.
Alfaro seems to take a different approach in these big games. I don't think we will win but a draw could be possible if we play our cards right.
Caicedo has been recalled. https://www.brightonandhoveindepend...stal-palace-chelsea-and-leicester-3524561?amp
This would be the list of 28 players I would call up for the games against Brazil and Peru: GK - Dominguez, Galindez, Ortiz, Ramirez RB - Byron Castillo, Angelo Preciado, Hurtado LB - Pervis, Palacios CB - Torres, Hincapie, Arboleda, Porozo Wingers - Mena, Plata, Ayrton Preciado, Rojas, Janner Corozo, Romario Ibarra Center mids - Moises, Gruezo*, Mendez, Franco, Carcelen Strikers - Enner, Estrada, Cuco, Jordy Caicedo If Gruezo doesn't recover in time from his knee injury then I would call up Jordy Alcivar. If Alfaro goes with 31 players then he'd probably call up another center back - Leon or Arreaga. Djorkaeff and Danny Cabezas are also players I would consider.
It's possible Intriago and Sierra are taken into account by Alfaro this time around. Liga mx has already started so they would have played 2-3 games by the time Ecuador plays Brazil and Peru. Gruezo is injured and last played a match on November 19th. Mendez and Carcelen last played on December 4th. Franco's last appearance was on December 9th. Washington Corozo has come off the bench the last two games. I wouldn't be surprised to see him though. I don't think Jhojan Julio gets called up. He has to regain his form. Ayrton and Rojas are ahead of him imo. Romario Ibarra had a good game recently too so if he starts the next two games then I think Alfaro will call him up.
