Sorry but I highly doubt Valencia can score. He can’t even dribble the ball without falling over. So clumsy.
I’m sorry but Moises is making too many mistakes in the middle. Too many bad passes that are giving Argentina a chance to counter attack.
Arboleda MOTM for us so far. Please put Caicedo in Gruezo's position and sub in Cifuentes. Gruezo is passing back too much and not pushing it forward.
We need some creativity,some of the defenses choices are really amateurish,watch out,the Argentinians know this,they’re going to make us pay.
Our defense besides that one mistake has done well. Midfield on the other hand... We need to sub out Gruezo, respect his hustle but the man's positioning is bad. Caicedo as the holding mid and Cifuentes up with Franco I think will trouble their defense much more.
Couple of things. The team is playing pretty organized despite the short time to prepare. Moises has calmed down a bit and made good recoveries but his passing needs to improve a lot. Valencia is showing why he hasn’t been able to score since February. He is too weak vs strong players like Argentina has. Ibarra seems slow and hasn’t provided any dangerous attacks like Antonio Valencia use to. He needs to be subbed out. He is good at getting passes out of dangerous plays though. Mena is being wasted IMO. If you watch him, he has made moves that leave him wide open if someone can feed him the ball. Uses his body so intelligently! Beating the Argentinas defenders with smart moves, but we have no one that can play with him. He needs a better partner than Valencia to allow him to flourish. Mena definitely deserved to have moved to Europe, he would have been one of the best players. Sadly, he wasted too many years in Emelec. I’m shocked that the CB are playing really well. As well as the midfield IMO. I though the person who would be making mistakes would be Arreaga but it was actually Estupiñan. Estupiñan is having a HORRIBLE game! He does have Messi on his side though. I would switch Mena to the other side and bring in someone who can support Estupiñan defensively because he is struggling alone.
I would kill to have Christian Benitez today. He would exploit the space Argentina Not having Alvarado hurt us since he and Plata are very solid defensively. Enner is just not a CF either. He can't hold up play and he takes too long to make a pass.
Hey ,We did pretty good considering,we practically had a whole new squad,can’t blame them.we definitely needed Noboa in the middle.
IMO it was a really good game. We are super young squad BUT the talent is there!!! I haven’t felt so confident the talent that’s in the pitch for a long time. Seriously, the youngsters played a great game vs a tough opponent. We are just missing a killer forward. If we manage to develop someone that can actually score and we could have tied it at least today. I’m pretty proud of today’s performance.
