haha yeah it was really just a joke on my part I find it interesting that Chile claimed all week (obviously to pressure a quick decision), that a Fifa decision was supposed to be coming in today. It is now 4 PM in Switzerland (Fifa Headquarters) and no word. the FEF already confirmed that no deadline was ever communicated. I wonder what the spin will be from the media on why this didnt come in today.
Chile is just one big meme. Just look at incidents involving Chile: Chilean GK purposely cutting himself in 1989 to try to get points from Brazil, Chile in 2018 reclaiming points vs Bolivia only to lose their spot to Peru because they asked for the points LMAO, and now asking for us to be banned because they know their golden generation is dead and won't see a world cup for many years.
According to Infobae FIFA has ruled with Ecuador and the crying Chilenos will have to watch on tv.Twitter post
FIFA has spoken. Hoy se ha hecho justicia deportiva, siempre supimos estar del lado correcto, vamos Ecuador!!! @FEFecuador pic.twitter.com/epK9HJ4W2o— Francisco Egas (@franciscoegas) June 10, 2022 Case closed.
I doubt they'll suspend Chile like in 1994 but at least hit them with a fine and suspend fans from going to their stadium.
Yea I saw that, but the language was very vindictive and created a lot of commotion. Like when you scream out something you know you can't say during trial, regardless of being stricken from the record, the damage is done. ANYWAYSSS, I hope the FEF and Barcelona get serious about getting something out of this from Chile - regardless of their side of the story, they know exactly what they did vendiendo humo these past two days. Did the Byron Castillo to mexico deal get put on ice waiting for this resolution? I feel like I read that somewhere.
The language was clickbait....terrible journalistic ethics. Re: his move to MX, I believe it was announced today.
Unfortunately the Byron Castillo case is not over. Chile will appeal to FIFA and TAS. In the end Ecuador will play in the World Cup and Chile will watch it from home. It's a distraction. It's a major gamble on behalf of Milad and the Chilean federation. They're undoubtedly going to face lawsuits. Byron Castillo, the FEF, and BSC have legitimate options in pursuing legal action. Who knows if they'll have to pay any damages but they'll definitely have to pay a lot of money in lawyer fees. Milad changed the narrative. A lot of Chileans feel like a world cup berth was stolen from them. They think they didn't qualify because Ecuador didn't follow the rules. The Chilean federation (with help from the media and Carlezzo) have deflected blame as to the true reasons why they didn't qualify - an aging golden generation, not renovating the squad, terrible coaching hires, a stagnant domestic league, lackluster youth player development. I hope Byron Castillo can put this matter behind him. Prior to this whole debacle I think he was the starter. His form has dropped and Angelo Preciado has improved his game. They're the top two options Ecuador has at RB. I think the move to Leon will serve him well. A change of scenery could do him well.
Just got back home from the game. I have to say I didn’t like this game at all. I got the feeling they’re not playing to get injured which is understandable but also feel like the team is not passing to each other.
