IDK how it works since it varies league to league... don't they normally review and "suggest" that a ref review it, but the ref isn't beholden to that unless it's a goal decision? If that's the case, the VAR refs must've been asking him to take a second look...
The way I understand it, the VAR ref looks at it and tells the CR to take a look if the VAR ref thinks it could be a clear an obvious error. He probably didn't think it was obvious.

I have no reason for this, but I've always called the Ayew brothers, "the bash bros" in my head. That doesn't really describe either of their playstyles, I just really like the idea of soccer brothers being called "the bash bros".
