Any Crew fan contemplating flying from Ohio for the game in San Jose on March 5? If so, PM me. I can make my pair of seats available for free, while I stand with Quakes supporters. (First come, first served).
2004 was a bit of an exception...but that last game? Egads. Whereas the trophy *does* have our name on it, a lot of teams near the top of the standings also ended with a lot of ties and losses. I remember plenty of posts about how "we backed into the shield."
We won the 2004 shield on tiebreakers with KC who had the same number of points. Appropriate that we got there with ties, then won a tie breaker.
You should reach out to the Mile High Massives. They've got a Facebook page. Always been a solid group. The down side is that they'll surely be stuck in the visiting fan section which are always the shittiest seats in any stadium. The upside is you get to be loud and obnoxious as part of a band of yellow and black drunks and, normally, get on TV a couple times. The producers love that stuff
In the past, the visiting supporters were actually in the corner of the lower bowl. Not a bad vantage point.
Any idea when tickets will go on sale? I'm going to extend my stay in Ohio so I can go to the game on the 12th of March with my brother and a former coworker.
Any word on when FCC tickets go on sale? I’m treating the Hell is Real south game as a home game every year. It was a blast last year and I’m excited to go again.
HOLY JESUS CHRIST I just checked ticket prices for the March 12th game. Lower bowl, in a corner, and it's 84 DOLLARS PER TICKET Are you ********ing kidding me???
Neither am I, but I do expect to find tickets on the secondary market at closer to season ticket, per match prices. Here or Reddit; cash transfer; no fees. Not necessarily for every match, but most. And I’m not able to go every match anyway. Maybe someday the season ticket base grows to above 15K with a wait list and excessive demand will take away the easy secondary market option. We’ll see. But I doubt it’ll be the case this season.
My season ticket that was lower sideline at HCS was about $650 all together. The equivalent at LDC is $1,400 and that is before fees and tax. Used to be able to get single game tix in the same spot for $40ish, now it’s closer to $110ish. I’ve definitely been priced put of any plans. We go a couple times a year, but that’s it now. It’s unfortunate to say the least.
I was thinking it'd be a tough sell if they were $60 each, let alone add another $25 + fees and taxes on top of it. Good ********ing Lord!
If 20K fans are willing and able to pay these prices, more power to the FO for selling tickets at those amounts. The market will define what's possible. If I'm priced out, I can live with that. Maybe if I didn't spend so much damned money on single malt Scotch, I'd think differently about these prices. But I like my Scotch, man.
This will be one of the few times I'll be back in Ohio while the Crew are playing. So, getting to see the team at the new field with my brother and former coworker is a big pull for me. But dropping $300 for 3 tickets is a REALLY tough sell for me.
It's just easier to buy them all together so we're sure we're together. Forgot, have to buy parking on top of that too.
Not sure I'd enjoy the walk from Hofbrauhaus, down the bike path in January cold (if I were going tonight). But that's been my free parking option for Crew games.
I got 4 seats for HiR at FCC in August for $112 total with no fees. Went to buy single game tickets for Crew for our end of the derby and decided to wait for the secondary market.
The Crew is offering a 5 game plan with tickets from $41-$97 each. You also have the option to join the Nordecke and buy season tickets for around $36/ticket-$650 for a season ticket. After the investments the Ownership group has put into facilities, roster, and staff, I cannot believe the shock and surprise that some are having about ticket prices. Look at Bluejackets ticket prices, Ohio State football, The Cavs, etc...Do we really want to go back to being a low budget operation with crappy facilities, low player salaries, and cheap match tickets? The bottom line is you do not have to spend $100/ticket to see a Crew match.
Sorry, I don't go to Cav, Blue Jacket, or any Ohio State games. Crew tickets are the only frame of reference I have. And frankly, $82 is a LOT of money when the last lower-bowl ticket I bought was in the $40s.
Thank you. I know it’s an adjustment, but there was a zero percent chance this wasn’t going to happen. Top-notch facilities demand higher prices. The only complaint I have about prices is that it would be nice if there were some $25 seats available for every match, like the back two or three rows of the upper bowl in the corner somewhere. Like the CBJ used to do with the Huntington Green Seats. Other than that, we got exactly what we wanted for this club and were craving for for YEARS. Prices going up shouldn’t be the least bit surprising.
Plus, they obviously made a marketing decision to go whole hog on the prices from day one, which they clearly knew would create a good deal of sticker shock. Some teams - I believe that FCKY is among them - raise prices gradually over a few years when they move into a new place. The Crew elected to go for it.
