Still got a road trip to Portland who absolutely owns us of late So It can get worse I got us going -10 gd with a 3-0 loss
Wonder what trey will spew on his podcast about this or if he’ll just conveniently not publish one for a bit because he’s busy doing not his job
I’m putting money on the Portland preseason being detrimental given the turf and rain 2 things nobody saw coming in….. portland
Almost feels like someone should get fired after this game. Not sure how high up it goes, but not enough people took this game seriously. If they want to play the injury card, fans should unite in saying there's not enough talent. D3 is Monarchs level, this was their 5th match ever as a team. Absolutely unacceptable. Hope to see the owners show that to the fans.
Who gets fired? Pablo just got a new contract It’s the usoc - despite the club saying otherwise they played like they didn’t give 2 shits about it. Nobody in MLS does. The team that Pablo put out should comfortably win that game. A guy like Rubin should finish with a hat trick. But instead they treat it like a training session. And with it goes any chance of the kids playing
Eh We have a Venezuelan international on loan from a bundesliga side. They’re doing something. Enough? Not yet But I’m not calling for them to sell when they haven’t even gone 3 months in the gig
Cut me some slack, just venting a bit. But seriously outside of a loan from Augsburg for a player who thus far has really not done much, what has our new ownership done? A few rumors and some new paint at Rio Tinto?
I’m not going to defend their lack of investment - the quickest way to show they aren’t dlh would have been to hit the market hard - but I’m giving them until the summer to do that I also think the ire should be more directed at Fall. This roster is shit
Futhi Bhembe? edit: Oh! Now I get it.... Forgot he was the guy that embarrassed us in our first US Open Cup.
Rubin has barely played this season and there was nobody that could get him the ball. Service was bad, final third passes were bad. Even if these backups played well (mostly they didn't), they aren't good enough. Backups in MLS should destroy a 3rd level team. Player selection and tactics were left wanting if they for sure wanted to win that game.
We don't know if he's been given any more resources. He has chosen to fill the roster with draft picks and MLS castoffs. You don't waste senior roster spots on those players if you have all the resources available to you. If he did it knowing he could have signed DPs/U22/TAM players, fire him yesterday.
I'm withholding my doom and gloom for 2023. That said, I feel like we've been seriously rebuilding for 6 years now. I feel like we HAD to give Pablo a shot as he did quite well to end last season. I'm not sure he's the guy going forward. However, it takes a lot more than just a good/excellent HC to make the franchise a winner. We've been coasting for 10years. This franchise really has only had 2008-2013 as a functioning operation, although the financial side was a mess, which led to where we are today. The financial side *should* be alright now. But I think it's going to take more than a preseason of kicking the tires to identify the talent the team needs on the field, on the coaching staff, and in the FO. Ultimately, if we end up being a perennial playoff team, but not necessarily an SS or MLS Cup contender, that develops and sells young talent that plays alongside some good productive DPs and some seasoned vets, I'll be quite satisfied.
I can't disagree with you. As for last night, there was a chance for the team/organization to allay some fears/concerns from the fanbase and they just stoked the fire instead. Playing more first team players should have happened (see my guess at the lineup/formation). At the very least, the formation and tactics weren't good enough from Pablo and company. There was not near enough creative play out there and the service to the guys that could maybe score was abysmal. If they don't add difference makers until the summer window, I don't think this team makes the playoffs. There won't be enough time/games for the new players to adjust and make an impact. If we're having the same discussion after the next primary window closes, time for torches and pitchforks.
Wait so the intern isn't doing a good job at managing a professional sports team? I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you. Actually I'm not that shocked.
