A Nancy team: —————————-Room ———-Mensah—-Williams—-Degenek Moreira———Morris———Nagbe———Sands —————-Molino————Zelarayan —————————-Cucho
Article from Montreal a) Quotes MLS Gone Wild saying deal is done, will be announced possibly Monday, and b) Nancy will bring 2 assistants with him. https://www.danslescoulisses.com/ru...rrait-amener-deux-de-ses-adjoints-a-columbus/ Signed. Sealed. To be announced as soon as Monday. Wilfred Nancy WILL take over the reigns as #Crew96 head coach! https://t.co/WpZKWJSC4v— MLS Gone Wild ⭐️ (@MLSGoneWild) November 26, 2022
No, but we haven’t made signings yet. That’s just the system Nancy plays and what it would look like. Could also play Yeboah instead of Molino. Nancy doesn’t really use wingers. In Montreal he had Mihailovic (#10) and a bit of a rotation at the other attacking spot. Sometimes he’d play another playmaking type midfielder, other times he’d play Quioto there, making it more of a two strikers and one midfielder type attack. So we need another playmaker type, a left wingback or Santos type two-way winger, and a centerback.
Despite the obvious weaknesses- Sands just isn't ready to have a position handed to him and at this point Williams is a backup at best - I don't hate this. And I include Molino; he showed moments of promise last year for a guy who's lived in the trainers room for two years. It's probably not a cup winner but its far from a door mat
The comments from the Montreal supporters make Nancy sound really good, and make Saputo sound like a meddling, micro managing, madman who dumps coaches very regularly. The key thing about Nancy is that the players seem to love playing for him.
I’d buyout Nagbe and then trade an international roster spot, our first round Superdraft pick, and probably around $250,000 in GAM with another potential $250,000 in GAM in 2024 if Pulisic reaches certain objectives. And I’d let Chelsea take Matan on loan for 6 months, no option to buy though. That should do it.
Miami might get Messi , we could go for an older guy . Pulisic in his prime isn’t coming to MLS my comments about getting him were many years ago when he had done next to nothing in Europe but everyone knew he was a future star. That window closed a long time ago and you would of had him for maybe a year at most before selling for profit if you dig up the old post i said exactky that get these kind of kids and then sell for profit you guys take everything out of context
An older guy? Yeah, we could see what McBride is up to. Maybe Hugo Sanchez. I bet Real Madrid would take Matan and the right to Erik Hurtado in exchange for Alfredo De Stefano.
Again we will add nobody because Nagbe I would love to add another very good attacking winger someone younger we can sell later like we can do with Cucho.
And none of them play for Columbus we don’t even crack the top 20 so clearly we lack talent, although had Cucho played the entire season I think he would of been up there in the top 15.
In terms of clearing salary for Nancy going shopping: 1) Artur (traded): $615k guaranteed out + $200k GAM in (this year). 2) Santos: $687k. Option declined. 3) Kitchen. $327k. Retired. 4) Etienne Jr. $175k. Not on Senior Roster. So not on budget. Would have been senior if re-signed. About $1.6 mil not counting DEJ.
I paid next to no attention to M9ntreal last year. They were good and entertaining. An I correct in thinking they played 3 in the back? 343 (3421) or 352? Wingbacks wide or midfielders or fullbacks? Or did it vary?
We have drafted CBs the last 2 drafts. Those guys are with Crew2. Malou, Quinton, Erlandson. I would not be shocked to see 1 or more make the 30 man. Also, Diaz could play in Molino's spot. Agree that that setup is the best fit to Nancy's system with the guys we currently have.
