Re: Portland/LAFC, If it takes five minutes of replaying over and over and over again, how can anyone say that it's "clear and obvious"?
And LAFC breaks the tie in the 94th. must be the weekend for it. The Angelinos clinch the shield . In truth they are very good
http://www.espnfc.com/atlanta-unite...a-suspended-3-games-for-using-homophobic-slur 3 games that’s more harsh than what Cucho got
It was refreshing to watch a team (Philadelphia) not sit back the last 15 minutes of the game while up 1-0.
I know, right?!? Stoppage time alone had Philadelphia outshooting Cincy something like 4-1. A team cannot send 10 into your box if there is the threat of a counter. I just wish we had someone fast enough to keep an attacking team on their heels...
Philly defended well but the loss comes down to Cincy. They managed the end of that game terribly. They got frantic in the 70th minute. It’s okay to do that in like the 92nd minute and fire long balls in and play desperate risky passes, but they still had time when they lost their identity and patience.
In the Cincy-Red Bulls game, once RB went up a goal, RB bunkered. Then when Cincy leveled, RB panicked and played some of the worst soccer I've seen in some time, which is saying something given CB9K's tenure.
So... NYC at Philly in the Eastern Conference Final for the second year in a row. According to Adrian Healey on ESPN, it's the first time there's been a rematch in the Conference Final since the Crew and DC met three years in a row all the way back in the 90's.
Ferrara playing the 6 when you need a goal is a weird flex. Wolff won the battle of Crew assistants vs Estevez.
It struck me as a Klinnsman move; just a sort of intuitive flash of genius putting someone where they didn't belong because he had a "feeling it would work". It never did with Klinnsy either. BTW Estevez took the place vacated by the Sixten Bostrom, who left to coach SJK in Finland but still has one of the great names in Crew history Aside from that, I have to agree with @porchlight above, and Dallas was never going to win that one. Austin making the semi has as much to do with how weak the west is as how good Austin is.
The Athletic is reporting that Atlanta has told Josef Martinez he’s out. He has one year left on his deal, includes a no trade clause (I think all DP contracts do). Not surprised. Before some idiot(s) start screaming that Bez is the second coming of Hitler and that we should sign Josef, he ain’t coming here, don’t even. We have Cucho.
But just for a moment imagine playing with Joseph and Cucho in front of Lucas. Just for a moment bask in that thought. Feel the warmth of that attack after the cold, dark years of Berhalterball and Porterball and attacks cycling through centerbacks. But overall yeah, Bez isn't going to bring him here.
All that I can imagine is Martinez taking Molino's permanent spot in the trainers room rehabbing his 38th acl repair as he holds down a DP slot and cashes bi-weekly $200.000 checks No thanks.
