Thanks @cwelch999 for continuing to post these Matchday threads.

This is a big match in the East. Should be a good game

The 6:00pm start time seemed strange. I actually went on the Union site to confirm (Sorry to doubt you ....)

    The poll is closed.

I'm going to guess a win. They look impenetrable right now.

Nuts! Sorry about that. Anyone know how to get a moderator's attention to edit that? Or how I might go about becoming a moderator?

Guessing win as well - that makes it 100% for the poll so you know there will be a fluke own goal or questionable PK against the U and it will end up tie or loss

Sounds like Uhre and Carranza will be starting up front tonight.

Well, you were mostly right - the Union won and there was a fluke own goal :)

This was a big win for the Union in the type of game in which they would have given up last minute points in the past

Good teams don't beat themselves, and also find ways to win when they don't play their best.

Can't wait till this team really starts to click!

On the offensive side, you could see the ideas that were there in the attempted passes and feints but also the frustration because everyone is not on the same page. If they are able to sync up a bit more this team might be scary good because the defense is pretty tight already. Hard to lose when nobody scores on you and hard not to win when opposing teams beat themselves.

The "3rd law of teams I root for" states that as soon as one thing is fixed, another thing is broken.

So I expect Uhre and Carranza to start scoring goals in bunches come summer...just in time for Europe to buy Kai Wagner and Brujo and send the defense into shambles.

Glad to have you back and forgot how steep that line was the year they won the shield

Yes - Carranza looked frustrated and lost. Uhre didn't do much at all. Bedoya threw his hands up twice at poor balls sent through. Definitely a poor offensive performance. I get the whole "possession doesn't equal wins" idea but man there were multiple 10 min stretches in the 2nd half where we didn't string together more than 3 passes at a time before giving it away. Frustrating to watch.
