So this could be a pretty big game for RSL. At some point they need to get back to the style of play and form that earned them a spot so high on the table. At least for a moment or two. Where has all the hustle gone? The schedule for RSL is only going to get harder as the season rolls and on making such mess out of the last 6 games or so is going really going to hurt. A win against SKC could go a long way in righting the ship and a loss, especially if it looks like the last few games, could really crank up the pressure internally on this team. How about 3-1 RSL.
I don't know what to expect from the lineup, I guess the 4-4-2 with most of who we've seen lately. Of notice will be if Brody, Herrera and Meram all start given their minutes in the last week. Are Sava and Glad ready to start? It'll be hard to win without them. I don't know if Rubio and Cordova work together, but I'm not sure what else to do if Pablo is sticking with this "empty bucket". 3 points are a must. I do know that I'll be in attendance for this and the game next Saturday, so I'll try to enjoy the gameday experience. Looking forward to seeing all the changes in person.
as must win of a game in July as there can be. Another home draw or loss (would be the first) would completely erase all of the wiggle room the club earned through the first third-ish of the season. Lineup should be: Cordova - Savarino Meram - Ruiz - Loffelsend - Chang Brody - Glad - Silva - Herrera MacMath Yeah, put Savarino "up top"... but really, just let him do his shit wherever he wants. Instead of making him shuttle back so much on the defensive side of the ball, let the dude just roam and get on the ball. I don't care where that is. Everyone else is like 3 levels below Sava, let him do his shit and everyone else figure it out. Also, there is zero reason Rubin should be playing. None. Zilch. I know people have just as strong opinions about Corodova, but at least the dude has put the ********ing ball in the net this season. Rubin hasn't. He hasn't even passed it to someone that put it in. He's so out of form I'd rather Axel Kei run around and play like a hyped up 14-year-old. Send Rubin on loan yesterday. Loffelsend has to start because nobody else seems capable of running and playing soccer as a center mid in this squad. The Meram slot machine will hopefully come up 7's. Chang isn't flashy, but I'll take him over pretty much anyone else. ******** off if you think Rubin is somehow better for the team. Absolutely nothing backs that. If Glad and Savarino can't play then this whole thing will ********ing suck. Or we'll do a Pablos group against the wall classic and look like ********ing Liverpool and win. I dunno. This team is confusing, and I really hate SKC so please be the good part of confusing
First match live this season, will be siting in a RV in the north parking lot, RSL plates. need a cold beer drop by. Gotta hope this is the match we can get three points. Please no Holt, and no Rubin.
Bummer. I'm flying solo with my girls, and drinking plus blowing through the girls' bed time wouldn't be a positive for my marriage.
I’m in south jordan and there is one of these crazy microburst summer storms coming through right now Lightning will likely come within 10 miles, if not closer, of the stadium in the next 10 mins. Will screw up warmups and such
I love how they still try and play this up as a rivalry match. Anyone that made it a rivalry is long gone. I have no ill will against KC in general, it was the players there at the time.
Getting some pieces back tonight is nice: MacMath Herrera Glad Silva Brody Ruiz Loeffelsend Savarino Meram Chang Cordova Bench: Gomez; Kappelhoff, Holt; Besler, Luna, Hidalgo; Rubio, Julio Only eight on the bench - would presume Schmitt or Caldwell was supposed to be and is out? Weird not to have all nine slots filled at home.
I'm curious if it looks more like a 4-2-3-1. As much as I hated it until Pablo got rid of it, I'm hopeful it'll work now.
Caldwell got hurt last game and Dunny just announced that Kaplan's loan was terminated. That didn't last long.
Kablan was pretty poor in the Atlanta game. Escaped much attention because we were broadly disappointed in the game, but he wasn't good then or any appearance - which I would expect from an older player coming from the Belgian Second Division. That profile is unlikely to suddenly surprise.
Decided last minute to buy a cheap ticket in section 25. Last chance for a game before leaving the country for the rest of the season. Hoping we can turn things around with a struggling KC. But also know games like this can be a real, or should I saw Real, trap.
Forgot he was still there. Still, it feels like the last couple years or so it hasn't had the same fire as there was during the worst of it
His free kicks and corner kicks have been good, it's the shots from open play that leave something to be desired. We've forced five saves already.
