And that looked goal bound from Meram before Rubin's run took him into the path of the ball.

Herrera's touch is awful tonight. That form from 2021 is way in the past.

When all is said and done. 2-1 is a good score for us at halftime as the actual measure of play was further apart than that.

I get Pablo coming off at halftime, but why Luna? Maybe I shouldn't be surprised he looked off while playing out of position.

Both were turnover prone the entire half. Pablo has looked off since his father died ,which is certainly understandable.

I mean, I was excited for Luna to get the start but dude was a turnover factory in the first half.

Great ball from Jasper but Rubin was already offside.

Jasper isn't playing like an elite player, but he's playing so far above the other RSL players on the field it's ridiculous.

We put a lineup out tonight that would lose and now in the 89 minute we are surprised we are losing?

Lob it in to the box seems to be the only strategy. Not sure we have the targets for that.

Another "proud of the guys but lost by 1" performance like it's somehow better than getting thrashed 6 to nothing but at the end of the day it's still zero points. Garbage start to the game so we have to battle uphill the rest of the game.

Should have just fully rotated and played a formation that better suited the available players. Easy to live up to low expectations. Result wouldn't have changed, but we'd feel better about seeing guys get minutes they haven't got much of this year.

Showed us that certain players on this roster do not in any way belong in the MLS. Beasler, Rubin, Holt would be the first to come to mind.

Add Wood. Yes, he did more than Rubin is doing, but he doesn’t belong either.

Or is the talent around them not enough?
Besler is definitely an end of the bench guy. If you can fill the role with a HG and get a similar performance, go for it.
Are we forgetting what we saw from Rubio under Freddy? What he did with Guatemala not too long ago? I think he can play in MLS, but he's not good enough to just go out there in any formation/role and succeed in MLS. I think it's on Pablo to change formation/tactics to best fit the players available. Haven't seen that much lately.
Holt might work in a back 3 with good players around him. It would be interesting to see him in next to Glad in a back 4. He's a HG, so I'm not sure you move him unless the HG that replaces him is at least as good (Orozco might be). He may not be good enough for your 3rd CB, but we shouldn't have expected much from a 3rd and 4th string CB pair last night.

I disagree on Rubin. He hit a hot streak with RSL last year. We've seen that from other USL level players that get a chance with an MLS team. RSL got burned because we rushed to get him on a contract. When the flash ended (Paulo Jr, anyone?) RSL was stuck.

Holt, on the other hand, has shown he can succeed in a back 3. When the 3-4-1-2 setup was most successful it had Holt as one of the anchors. Losing Glad hurts this team massively, but throwing out every other CB (as some fans are want to do) is dumb.

Holt got undressed by Cisneros for both their goals. We need someone with some reflexes in that position, and that isn't Holt.

Midfield please. Can we get someone who can work the ball through the middle of the field so we don't have to keep doing those long diagonal balls that always seem to end up on the opponent's foot?
