Two of the worst teams in the league have kept us down at home. Columbus will be much better with their new acquisition, but they were bad when they were here.
Still need one in midfield first But I wouldn’t object problem is I don’t think there is room on the roster. Luiz moving is probably to be compliant, not to open space also Worth remembering that fall brought luiz back before the season. What a dumb ********ing move
In an attempt to rest legs for Wednesday Pablo dropped 2 points at home a draw in Atlanta would soften that blow but I’m not optimistic about that at all Wrapping up with another shit team in SKC in a week - the type we apparently suck against - and this 3 game window suddenly looks rough
Nobody here is complaining about the call, but in case somebody does: Was @LALASABUBAKAR1 offside in his late equalizer vs #RSL? Model says he was onside by about 8". So very likely onside or even. pic.twitter.com/SpGI7ZDjCu— SoccerPhotogrammetry AKA "A Nice Gentleman" (@OffsideModeling) July 10, 2022
I hate when pundits question the offsides. That goal was obviously looked at. The ref held up the kickoff after waiting for VAR to say he didn’t need to look at it. Clearly, it wasn’t offsides, or at least not clearly offsides. I don’t see it in this thread, but I was pretty livid that the tackle by Max on Loefflesend wasn’t a red. Live in person, that looked AWFUL!!! The yellow on Besler was BS, but had no effect on the game. Ref was fine, although he got suckered into calling some dives (bothsides). Seemed Colorado played the ref a little harder, but I’m not unbiased.
Well onside And deserved goal with how shambolic the defending was leading up to and through that play
I’ve also seen complaints from rsl fans about the pk call in what world is that not a pk? that was a flashback to old Silva I don’t remember the tackle on Loeffelsend, I might have been away when that happened… I don’t see it in the highlight package either
It was the yellow card on Max at minute 79'. 3 minutes later, all that time spent by Loefllesend on the ground being attended to by medical staff, Colorado subbed Max off before play resumed.
I was at the game, and immediately told my son that was a straight red on the tackle on Loefflesend. When they showed the replay on the big screen, I was even more sure. Still cannot figure out how it was only a yellow. He scissored his plant foot well after the ball had left. It looked awful. Loefflesend was down for a long time after it as well.
I was really p***** that RSL didn’t wipe out the tackler later in the game. I feel better having learned he was subbed out before play resumed. And, yeah, that deserved a straight red.
As follow up to the above post, the officiating has taken a step backward this season. Some of the officials hearken back to what I saw in 2005.
Three of the last four haven’t protected the safety of the players to an acceptable level imo. Fouls that would have received a card in the last few seasons haven’t. This, in turn, results in more dangerous tackles. That’s one reason Loffelsend almost ended up with a broken leg last night. Also, in that particular play, the tackler should have been issued a straight red card. They also aren’t calling fouls that have formerly been called. These are the two areas where the trends concern me. I’ve had no problems with how penalties, offsides, etc…have been called.
Must have been a bad day for officiating in the league. See the NYCFC vs NER and FCC vs NYRB (I attended that one) games if you want see controversy. There were probably others.
