    Something else I meant to mention:

    Although Rubin did pretty well (great header on the double save), he wasn't causing near as much havoc for San Jose's defense as Bobby Wood was. I don't know if Bobby's effort was "productive trouble" or not, but just that he seemed to throwing San Jose off their game moreso than Rubin. Is that a dumb observation?

    Bobby excels at being a pest, which is very Mastroeni if you remember him as a D-Midfielder. He was dragging his legs to create fouls and get free kicks, he was pressing really high on defenders, and he was throwing his body into people to cause chaos (which is how he got hurt actually).

    Oh, I totally agree with that assessment. Which is strange, because Rubio built his reputation on being that type of player (pest who finds a goal). For whatever reason, since his injury last year, that has gone away.

    If Wood's injury is at all significant, I'd be in favor of Menedez going out there before Rubio. He just doesn't have it
