Nah it’s just this team has been on a decline for years now. I used to get angry when they didn’t win. Now, if it weren’t for the futbol channel on discord I wouldn’t even know there was a game today. pinche seleccion y federacion. They’ve ruined it for us. Fuera Tata!
Exactly, shitty performance sure… disaster not quite. The win away kinda makes it a wash but an opportunity missed. Tata has lost the team and should go. 4 points every home and away and they’ll get in.
Torrado played in Spain and Layún at one point was the assist leader in all of Europe. And Salcido, I’m pretty sure is very fondly thought of in PSV We’ve had pretty decent players before but now the problem is that CONCACAF seems to have caught up and the Mexican fed seems to not really get the right hire with a long-term project trying to build the players of the future generations Same “short-term success” mentality that more or less plagues the league
I'm at the point where I wouldn't hate the idea of letting him go....but I'm not part of the burn it to the ground crowd. Mexico wins and people here get mad lol Mexico ties and it's a disaster But I wouldn't expect less from those that lose their shit over a friendly
I think Herrera was right when he criticized the Mexican fanbase and the Azteca but I also think that right now, somewhat justifiably, no one wants to hear it from the entire team
I for one am not going to beat up on this team. I mean, they are playing to their level are they not? Basically playing without a reliable center forward and struggling to make goals. Seems about right. Navas wasn’t going to allow any easy goals. CR has good players and always plays us with pride. A practically empty Azteca in mild conditions isn’t going to give them any real home field advantage. Gone are the days of cutting school or work to catch the mid-day qualifier in the sweltering heat with over 100k strong behind you. These have never been easy games. I still feel Martino is over-thinking things and just too stubborn in his ways to adapt to what feels like a mentally fragile squad, but in the end it feels like they’re playing up to their capability, and with no clear difference maker (maybe Vega can be the guy, maybe not) on the team this was always going to be tough.
Would not be ideal but Herrera would probably get us playing well enough to get out of the group stages. Pretty sure he even has a clause in his contract for the NT.
I'd just go with Larcamon. Young and full of ideas, knows the Mexican league, seems to be a good strategist and adaptable.
All subs Tata made where "hombre por hombre". I always say that one of the main thing that Mexico needs is a coach that studies the opposition and can break the bunker and Tata does neither. He's a slightly better Chepo. Also Mexico needs to notice that since 2013, that era of "Mexico passes the ball around and tires the other team in Azteca" is over. Since that Jamaica match, players can bunker for 90 minutes and just passing the ball around isn't going to tire them. Every freaking game Costa Rica has played Mexico the same way (except San Jose) and Martino hits himself with the rake every time.
I don’t think its do or die….not yet. And I don’t think it’ll get that bad regardless of who’s the coach.
Yeah. It seems he doesn't have a Plan B. Ever. And it doesn't help his insistence in over the hill vets or guys in terrible form.
