Once again, ******** FOX for continuing to put out their pre-game as the game time. I put it on a work out of office shared calendar before I realized it was a Saturday. ******** me for not knowing the days of the week.

16 teams will have their World Cup end by 3 pm CT on Friday afternoon. The US isn't one of them. I'll take it.
Isn't whistling the equivalent of booing in Iran? So wouldn't that be Iranians booing the loss, rather than celebrating the win?
Four teams left in the tournament that haven't allowed a goal in open play. The other three have yet to play their third game.
It really is the USMNT way: they win the game, advance from the group, but still manage to disappoint.
You'd think after all these years we'd be used to it, but nooooooo...we just keep comin' back for more!
After all these decades in this unhealthy relationship with the USMNT, I'm quite sure we're used to it.
I'm not disappointed despite that I thought that maybe this game could be the scoring clinic we all would love to see. Iran's chances were limited even with the way they carried the play for the last 25 minutes. And overall seeing the U.S. go an entire group and only conceding one goal on a penalty is fantastic. For me that counts as a step up in composure that I've been wanting to see for a long time. And it's easy to play "should've could've" but if CP didn't have to leave I truly believe we score again. Either way, though, great result and I'm happy.
Berhalter has this habit of setting the team up fairly well, but his in-game management makes me want to die. Our players are a class apart from Wales and Iran, but we got into voluntary mud fights with both. There's no reason for that.
I think they need to take more shots. We wouldn't mind the misses if they didn't waste chances by trying to make one pass too many at times. I've been annoyed for at least 15 years by US teams trying to score the perfect goal and walk the ball into the net.
Could have gone my whole life without reading the words "pelvic contusion." https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/ne...ontusion-ahead-of-world-cup-round-of-16-game/
15? Double that for me. But it's not about taking more low quality shots. It's about developing players who make high quality shots out of apparently low quality opportunities. We've seen flashes of that from time to time. But it's never been something we've been able to consistently develop. Which leads to a lot of frustration.
As a Revs fan, I'd love to give Turner all the credit for his 0.33 GAA in the group stage, but I have to admit he wasn't tested all that much. Still, shutting out an England team that scored 9 goals in the other 2 games is quite the accomplishment for the US defense. Anyone else think GGG playing Sargent was for his defensive skills, not his scoring?
Looked like a golazo for Tunisia against a heavily-rotated France lineup. Unfortunately, offside keeps a spectacular flying volley from counting.
Kind of want Denmark to lose just so Carli Lloyd's prediction of them making the final is as wrong as it can be.
