At this point Hatch seems to be getting more in the way than she is contributing. Of course the fact that she is on the field may be occupying one or two defenders and that may be freeing up others for good chances. BTW: I REALLY like that, for now, Jamaica is playing the US straight up. (Not bunkering) It bodes well for continuing development by Jamaica that they, unlike most of the rest of CONCACAF, are not afraid of the US. It may cause a large score but it allows Jamaica to learn a LOT more than teams do from bunkering. Offside is still a US problem. There is no need for regular play to be offside but, in this match, the offside calls have come, mostly, from scrambles so that is a little understandable and forgivable.
That very obviously went out for a corner, but instead the goalkeeper took her time and played a long ball like it never went out.
At the half we look a bit more cohesive than the last few matches. Their Wiltshire has Mal wrapped around her finger.
At the half it is US 2 Jamaica 0. But after a fast start little errors are killing the US chances. Hatch is still running around and getting in everybody's way but producing very little.
Actually I think that it was Pugh that was called offside. She was off when the ball was played toward her. Of course the offside calls are so numerous that I could be remembering the wrong play. Ain't aging great? I am 75 and feel every year of it.

These commentators are really excited about a couple center backs who have literally faced zero pressure while in possession, cleaned up a handful of loose balls from the Jamaicans, and stole the ball once or twice while double teaming Buchanon.
I have aged beyond my years. SE Asia in the late '60s and '70s will do that to just about anyone. Of course I do dream young and my granddaughters help. I wish I could still ride a bicycle or even a motorcycle. My balance has deteriorated to the point where even stars are a challenge at times. I can't even safely drive a car. My hips are so bad that an attempt to hit the breaks hard might fail and, somehow, stopping in an emergency might be important.
2nd half back on. Hatch hits one of the post at the 49' which would have been a fun one had it gone in.
I just wish most of the gabby announcers (That include most all of them) would just SHUT UP a lot of the time and let the game speak for itself. There is NO need for all the gab and much of it has nothing to do with the match being played.

Rodman in for Hatch. That is not surprising for me. She is fast enough ad strong enough and mean enough to play just about any position on the field.
