The starting lineup is in. 1 CHRISTOPHER BRADY 13 MICHAEL HALLIDAY 4 MARCUS FERKRANUS 5 BRANDAN CRAIG 2 MAURICIO CUEVAS 19 ALEJANDRO ALVARADO JR. 6 DANIEL EDELMAN C 8 JACK MC GLYNN 7 QUINN SULLIVAN 10 PAXTEN AARONSON 11 CADEN CLARK
Edison Azcona..who else? We may see him again, like we did in last Olympic qualifying. Apparently that wasn't enough of an audition for US coaches. They need another it seems.
Let me know when DR makes the WC. They didn't even make the final rd of qualifying for this one. Next chance is 4 years away. In the meantime Paredes will be playing relevant comps for the US & ultimately cap-tied. There's zero reason to be concerned about this.
That's shaky. It's an ostensibly more defensive CM, but McGlynn is a possession 8. Too slow to cover the space. Why does the best CB in Neal get benched? The Ferkranaus-Craig combo worked out poorly v. Canada. It's also Cuevas out of position to get Halliday who isn't very good on the field. May need to make early subs, unless the dynamos like Quinn & Paxten can make magic.
I am not an American Football hater, but do we really have to sit through USFL propoganda? How many times do we need to do this other football league. It's always terrible. Always.
Despite that, I unfortunately did. I enjoyed the edited-in crowd cheers in a completely empty stadium.
Probably the best half I've seen from a US team. So impressive considering the environment these boys are in.. I would swap out Clarke for Luna going forward, put Sullivan on the left side.
