Not a “chicken little” sentiment at all, more of a Sancho Panza realist perspective, but there’s no denying MLS has ascended at the same time Liga MX has descended. The violence, the lackluster results, the way things are run…not a shock to see this result. More shocking that somehow Pumas is what rose to the top. Rather than the cream rising they ended up being more of a turd floating. They got screwed by the refs in the first game no doubt, but that also feels like the way things will be now and will factor into how future installments of this go.
