As far as parking, if anyone is in the military you can park at Ft. McNair if you have a CAC card which is right behind the stadium and only a one block walk to the stadium.
Just got an email from my ticket rep that the Nats Park garage will be open for Saturday's match. No word on whether this is permanent and it's also rather expensive at $50, but could be a game changer for parking at Audi Field going forward.
Here are the instructions in that email (which seem odd to me -- pay on the way out? cash only? -- so I thought I'd include them here):
I doubt all the cars could get out of that garage in an hour. I believe we have tickets to two more games this season, and I won't spend a penny of my money if it goes to the Lerners.
I was going to say that sounds like a real disaster if everyone pays on the way out since people arrive at different times but everyone leaves at the same time. I guess if you have to pay first and then leave it might be slightly better if they have enough pay stations operating. It doesn't make much logistical sense though. But I expect nothing more from this disorganization.
yes, but please to remember that parking lot is owned, managed and operated by the Lerners. So while Leviathan and co. have rightly deserved much of the bellyaching that comes their way, in this case - not so much.
I park at one of two lots by the waterside metro station. They are $15-$16, its an easy flat 2/3 mile walk, and easy entry from Va via 395.
The walk from there is very nice since a lot of it is shaded. The downside is you're not close to any of the bars and restaurants near Nats Park and the Navy Yard station if you park there (what's available at Waterfront is very limited).

The roof, the roof, the roof is...being finished? Audi Field officials finalizing construction plans to complete roof on east and west sides this winter, sources say. Expanded premium areas also in works. Total project: $10 million-$12 million. #dcu #mls #nwsl— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) July 13, 2022
There's already solar paneling on the part of the roof that is completed. Unless you're asking them to add even more solar panels to the expanded roof.
Ah, I did not remember if that had happened, or what percentage of hoped-for capacity it was. So good on them if they already have enough. But with more, they could sell it to the neighborhood bars to run SG-discounted taps
Heh. You were right in the initial post, though. It would have been a lot cheaper to finish it during original construction. Boggles the mind why they never did. But some of the renderings even into 2017 showed the roof in its current form (no covering on the entire thing) so...
FYI, nationals game last night was rained out so they have a double header tonight. First game was earlier today as originally planned. They now have a second game at 6:05. Parking tonight should be interesting...
