Is Taxi Fountas expected back with DCU for 2023? I sort of thought after the incident he was going elsewhere?

There's a rumor, which the Crew are denying, that Australian CB Milos Degenek will be sold to Hyundai of the K league. It's not clear at the moment if the denial is absolute or just a negotiating tactic. Degenek had a decent World Cup.

This sucks! Then again he did say he wanted to continue playing for Argentina so I would see why he would want to stay at PSG. I really thought with the new Apple deal MLS was going to push hard to get both Ronaldo and Messi here. Unfortunately it won't happen. Luis Suarez is also looking like he won't be coming to MLS.
Back in Blue & White 🗽🇦🇷Bienvenido a NYCFC, Matías ✍️ @Dumbomoving— New York City FC (@newyorkcityfc) December 22, 2022 Claimed him off waivers? I wonder if this whole deal was nothing but some sort of bookkeeping trick from the get go?
Likely. He was on almost a million a year so the club declined his option. He then had to go through whatever mechanisms that would allow other teams to sign him. No one did so they grabbed him again and they can work (or they have already worked) on a much more sensible salary number for him (well, sensible for the team. I'm sure a million a year would have worked great for him).

Eh, the status Messi has now attained would have made his acquisition pretty transformative. Ronaldo a much more mixed bag, but getting both of them would have been its own sort of coup, and in either case was something the new global streaming Apple deal was perfectly positioned to exploit. Suarez is done and MLS 2.0-y anyway, but if that's the price of doing business with Messi you happily pay it. The league is doing very well down a different strategic path, but that doesn't mean you turn your nose up at an opportunity of that magnitude.
Bahia, newly acquired club by CFG, has been making a lot of moves. Santi Rodriguez is rumored to go there on loan plus they have been very active in the market. Meanwhile NYCFC is losing players, loaning them out to other CFG properties and so far just resigned a player they already had to a cheaper contract. Is CFG going to do with NYCFC what Red Bull has done with RBNY and completly ignore they have them? Or are they saving money for their new stadium?
