Because he's not showing up for work in the US. Us oldsters may remember when Ricardo Iribarren missed a season with the Crew due to not being able to re-enter from Argentina. He wasn't paid for his time by MLS, I think the league loaned him to a team there for the year.
Yeah..... But that's just not getting paid. He's getting fined by the league. RSL has a player, DP and Venezuelan Jefferson Savarino, who still hasn't reported to camp due to visa issues, and he is not being fined. Had a German report late, but no fine there.
Visa issues because of red tape? Not your fault. Visa issues because you committed a crime? Different story.
Salt Lake brings in Brayan Vera from America de Cali in Colombia on a TAM deal. Left back. And now RSL has a Braian, a Bryan, and a Brayan.
Always trying to copy the Rapids, who had a Bryan and a Braian last year. (You did one up us adding the Brayan though)
I would be very disappointed if there isn’t a RSL fan podcast called “A Life of Brians” started up this year.
“Now you listen here! He’s not the host. He’s a very naughty MLS Season Pass match analyst. Now go away!”
Ravel Morrison update, per club sources: He's not in D.C. United's plans, won't be on MLS roster this season, ineligible to play. Remains on payroll with guaranteed deal, can continue to train. What's next? Trade, transfer or mutual termination of contract. #dcu— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) February 23, 2023
MLS came up with new rules. -Teams can loan within the league up to 2 players per season. No purchase options added into loans -Contract buy outs can occur during the season but has to be done before the Secondary transfer window. -A player can be replaced if he is placed on the season ending injury list. His replacement cannot have a bigger budget charge. DPs can be replaced too if placed on season ending injury list. Not bad changes IMO.
