Little forgotten player. But started and played 90 mins in the first game of the season. They won 2-0 against Anderlecht. Great start

Oh yeah by the way, the purchase option has been signed until 2026. He struggled a bit since he arrived, with a 7 months hip injury, but he's been excellent every time he was on the pitch.

He'll finally be a starter this season.

I wonder how it will go this year. Union players are a bit traumatized because they have failed to win the title those last two years, at the very last moment both times (thanks to belgian ********ed up playoffs system) despite being being waaaaaaay above the league all season long.

They even made it to Europa's quarter-finals last year, not bad for a club who was still on second division 3 years ago

Fun fact: this year, it is the japanese newcomer Shion Homma from FC Bruges who ended up Union last hopes of title with a goal and an assist in style, in the last minutes of the game.

Dont think this guy gets enough credit, starts today as usual against Liverpool.
They are on the top of the league also.

Japan have to hidden centre back gems in Belgium in him and Watanabe. Although Watanabe is overlooked by Moriyasu.

Belgian media are again talking about Tottenham being interested in Machida. Maybe that Postecoglou knows him well and wants him before that his value rises after the Asian Cup. JNT is being praised game after game since last World Cup. USG are reportedly asking 15M€ for a transfer mid-season.

Yellow/Red today for Machida but St Gilloises are still leading the game 1-0 and leading the table.

Machida as the hero of the week in Brussels. Another late header to equalize against Bruges to save the title hopes for his team.

Played 90' and won the Supercup against Bruges , 2-1, yesterday. Media are still reporting transfer rumours, but unknown destination. It takes time...

He also married in Brussels last month. Will he finally stay in a city he seems to like?

Talking about Frankfurt now…. On the 16th of august.

Same british agent that Ao Tanaka stopped collaborating with. No wonder why.

But Frankfurt would be ideal for him. Would be nice if this could happen.

Got a straight red card today, but it looks like it was a harsh decision. Somebody watch the game?
