I think we will sell Palhinha. Sarabia won’t be with us any longer. Porro possibly might not be either. i would like to see us try and sign 24 year-old Spanish striker Fran Navarro from Gil Vicente. We need : - CB signing - another experienced CB perhaps on a free transfer like we did with Feddal. Jose Marsa may be ready for promotion. - Striker - LW -LB (nazinho may be ready for a chance) -RB if Porro leaves
Well I would start this thread later but why not start talking about things now. Porro: I think the plan is to buy him up still. They're waiting for a cash injection first before buying, the board would be dumb not to buy him. Palhinha is gone I agree. And it's the right time, he's in his prime, we have a great young replacement with Ugarte. Jornal Record has been linking us with a move fo Santa Clara's Hidemasa Morita, a 26 year old midfielder whose been playing well for them. Cost would be around 3.5M and I can see him being the backup to Ugarte. The rest is gonna be interesting. We signed a striker and a winger who as we saw yesterday havent fully integrated yet with the team. Clearly Edwards is supposed to replace Sarabia, so I think it depends on what happens with Jovane (doubt Lazio buy him), Sporar (maybe Boro like him enough to buy), and Joelson (what's his loan been like at Brugge, i had high hopes for him?) LB - well it seems we're stuck with Vinagre, I still think going forward he's strong 1 on 1 but defending is his problem. Amorim seems to have faith in him. He had a great season at Famalicao and he's played a full Premier League season... I wonder if Vinagre isn't more suited to be a winger than a full back? CB - Agreed we definitely need to sign a really good CB, we're limited here atm
Joao Teixeira has impressed me for Famalicao but I read he’s already 29 so most likely not worth pursuing. He was from our academy.
Fifa announced today that foreign players in Ukraine and Russia can unilaterally rescind their contracts until June 30 with out punishment. This is huge for the market. Apparently a new "transfer window" will be open til April 7th for clubs to sign these players. I wonder if we can go after anyone, Shakthar usually has some interesting Brazilians.
Record says that Rodrigo Ribeiro will promoted to Sporting's main squad. The 16-year-old forward will train with the main team and will only go down to B team to have minutes. He will be an alternative to Paulinho and Slimani.
Sporting CP are prepared to sell Matheus Nunes this summer. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has described Nunes as the best player for his position currently in the world. O Jogo says Sporting has rejected eight major offers for the midfielder already this season. But they are willing to sell this summer, with Everton and Newcastle among clubs keen. And Sporting will part with Nunes at the end of the season from a starting price of €40m. https://www.tribalfootball.com/arti...p-set-price-for-popular-matheus-nunes-4407509
We could probably squeeze a bit more for him, but Personally I'm more comfortable selling Palhinha at this stage. Ugarte is maturing rapidly and turning into a baller and he's only 20 years old.
One of the things we've always been bad at in the past is holding onto players a BIT too long (even going back to Moutinho and Veloso), need to sell them when they're at their peak, like when we sold Adrien Silva and Slimani Palhinha is right at that age where it's diminishing return turning 27 this year, unlike Mattheus Nunes who's only 24 this year.
Manchester City interested in acquiring Sporting’s Matheus Nunes. Bid expected in the coming days is €40M + Pedro Porro + Palaversa + Talles Magno. #MCFC [ABola] pic.twitter.com/sgq7Pegcje— Football Talk (@FootballTalkHQ) March 22, 2022
Yeah, the kid has quality and looks to have a good ceiling. If that deal can be worked out it'll be quite a brilliant piece of business
Sporting & Benfica are both reportedly interested in Francisco Trincao.#Wolves do have an option to keep Trincao after this season but as it stands that seems unlikely. The Portuguese clubs are hoping Barcelona will be open to another loan move in the summer. [source: Record] pic.twitter.com/wdRgYfFUE5— Talking Wolves (@TalkingWolves) March 23, 2022
Regarding Hidemasa Morita, he's reportedly also drawing interest from Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. The same club that Tiago Tomas is on loan at
Porto midfielder Diogo Abreu is now set to sign for Sporting as free agent. Agreement completed on a three-year deal with option for two more seasons. @pedromsepulveda 🤝🇵🇹 #SportingSporting will also include €60m release clause in the contract.— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) March 25, 2022
If he can breakthrough with their senior team and play well in the league, Gilson Tavares from Estoril may be a player to keep tabs on in a couple years. Scored a hat-trick for Cape Verde vs Liechtenstein today. Yes, weak NT opponent but still good for a youngster
Reportedly, Wolverhampton are looking at Matheus Nunes and Palhinha to replace Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves if they were to leave in the summer https://www.molineux.news/transfer-...rs-eyeing-sporting-cp-duo-nunes-and-palhinha/
Morita confirmed that there was interest in signing him from Santa Clara in an interview to A Bola and even went so far as saying he needs to make the move up in his career and that he hoped it would happen, although some elements within Santa Clara "are trying to block the deal"
