De Nations League-wedstrijd tussen België en Nederland kan vrijdagavond een debutantenbal worden. Beide bondscoaches hebben enkele nieuwe namen in hun selectie opgenomen.

Bij Oranje kunnen Jerdy Schouten en Jordan Teze hun debuut maken. Schouten zit deze week voor het eerst bij de selectie van bondscoach Louis van Gaal. Teze was er de vorige keer ook al bij, maar moest zich toen afmelden met een blessure. Schouten en Teze kunnen de 46ste en 47ste spelers worden die in Oranje debuteren onder Van Gaal.


De Oranje-bondscoach kondigde donderdag al aan dat hij deze interlandperiode gaat gebruiken om nieuwe spelers aan het werk te zien: 'Er gaan veel spelers spelen. Dat kan niet anders, want er worden vier wedstrijden in elf dagen gespeeld worden. Spelers raken compleet overbelast, dat kan niet aan het einde van het seizoen.'

Ook bij de Belgen zijn er twee debutanten in de selectie: Amadou Onana en Loïs Openda. Laatstgenoemde zal tegen Oranje echter niet in actie komen, vanwege een schorsing die hij bij Jong België heeft opgelopen. Onana, een twintigjarige middenvelder van Lille, kan wél zijn vuurdoop beleven tegen Nederland.

Is De Vrij injured? I'd really like to see the trio of Virgil, De Ligt and De Vrij getting some solid minutes and developing rhythm. Blind is a poor choice at LCB (or anywhere else to that matter). I believe this is the only time Virgil will be involved this time around, as he will go on vacation.

With better decision-making and sharpness in the final-third we could be up by at least 2 goals. We’ve had enough chances.

 

Can’t help but think that Gakpo would have done better in the final third tonight. Hope to see him in the second half.

Decent first half. Created a lot, gave little away. I’d like to see Koop for Klaassen, Malacia for Blind and Gakpo for Depay in the second half.

 

Lukaku sub has definitely changed the complexion of the game. The Dutch has gained the upper hand after that.
