Just saw ticket released on ticketmaster for friendly with guatemala. 55 bucks for seats behind the goal. that more expensive then DC united tickets. Thats too high pricing for sub 23 friendly.

I live in a city with the longest lockdown in the world (227 days and counting), second only to Buenos Aires. At least you have the luxury to attend a soccer match ;)

Working from home since my job was unaffected, finishing off my masters degree (I went back to studies), and bonding with my partner.

and lots of walks around my neighbourhood, working out in my backyard, hours spent on House Party/Zoom with friends, and experimenting with my hair and beard :ROFLMAO:

But at least I’m saving money and time by not eating out or driving all the time. I enjoy working from home but my extroverted self can’t do it 24/7.

The following have been called up for the Guatemala friendly. Of the 23 players, 9 are expats (Alguera, Saravia, Martinez, Rios, Garay, Calvillo, Molina, Arevalo, Sorto), and 4 of those are debutantes (Saravia, Arevalo, Sorto and Martinez).

Sorto, Saravia and Garay all hail from Washington metropolitan area, and came up together in the DC United academy and Loudoun United.

The big ones for me for this friendly are Saravia, Garay, Ríos, Sorto and Vazquez. They’re all players who would allow us to have depth that we so desperately need for this Octogonal.

Would definitely hope Rios gets game time with Houston Dynamo before he is considered for the Octagonal.

Other than that, pretty excited to see Hugo continuing to test the remainder of our available USL Championship players.

A player from Guatemala going with his girlfriend showing that they don’t really care about this. Also she’s clingy by the sounds of it.

Guatemala leads 2-0 at half. From what I’m reading Renderos and Dominguez have been atrocious.

Hugo wanting to be a possession team is okay but when you make very little to go on the offensive it makes the possession meaningless.

Didnt see the game, but had 6 debutants play a NT game for the first time ever. Wonder how they played or if anyone showed something interesting for the NT?
Dominguez fall from grace has been sad but it’s not usual in our soccer sadly.

Sadly most I can go on is twitter and we know how bad that section is. The only things I saw most agree on was Dominguez was bad as was Renderos. Sorto looked real good out of the bunch that and possession being meaningless if you aren’t scoring.

Edit: That and also how just because they play in the USL doesn’t make them automatically better.

My only thoughts is they should have gone with none of the regulars like Tamacas and Jairo, these guys are your main starters they shouldn’t be in these games risking injury. We saw what happened with Gomez who didn’t want to say anything so now we might be stuck with

Well Tamacas didn’t end up playing bc he had ‘some difficulties in the same ups’ so they put Sarravia in the RB role. Ended up being Chicho and Jairo the only two who are starters who played i believe.
I’m annoyed he didn’t start Vazquez. He seems to prefer the USL/American people over some of the Salvadoran league players.

Yeah I’ve noticed that as well I mean I know some of these guys play in better conditions but that doesn’t always translate to the on field results. I think if he is going to take USL guys I do hope he’s encouraging them to try and move further up and not become complacent.
