PBP: 2021 Match Day #2: Union v. Inter Miami CF, April 24, 2021 p/d/p

Hope it does not rain for the opener... Hoping for a win. Don't like the young bench

 

Trap game. (but I still voted for a win)

 

I can’t see them losing to Miami at home.

 

Then come to the stadium and see it in person.

I'll be here all week.

 

For the past two seasons I've been able to watch all the Union matches on ESPN + here in Lancaster. Now I can only watch in Spanish because the English feed is blacked out.

What a load of horseshit.

 

They look like dookie thus far.

 

Expended too much energy to come away with a loss. Tuesday may be kids or we risk injuries.

 

Bad loss. Each of the 4 chances Miami got were directly from bad Union giveaways, or bad tackles.

That's a game you have to win at home. In control for most of the game, then a bad foul gets Miami right back into it. Poor throw in leads directly to a counter and the go ahead goal.

Mbaizo and Glesnes very poor tonight.

 

Mmmm. That old timey Union brand soccer. Lose to a shitty team at home after blowing a lead. Just like 2014. I almost thought I saw Antoine Hoppenot out there.


Hopefully this is just a bad night.

WTF are they talking about? They literally lost their last game against MLS competition on November 24th. I guess everyone decided to erase it from their memories.

 

9 corner kicks generated and nothing remotely dangerous looking. Do they work on these?

Both Miami goals from unmarked headers. They need to watch the tape on the defender bodying Bedoya off a clean header in the first half. You don't always have to get to the ball as long as you don't let the opponent get to it either. Need to hire Conner Casey as an assistant coach to teach that skill.

 

That was unfortunate. But felt strangely familiar.
