I’m saying win, because this is the Union. Tie to a shit team at home then turn around and beat a good team on the road.
OK, after seeing the lineup, can I get a mulligan on my prediction? (though, I do like to see the fresh blood play)
I like this lineup for tonight. More change than I thought Curtin was capable of. This should be eventful!
Woof, that Penalty shouldn’t have happened. Chalk it up to being a youngin but it hurts after getting even on that great goal only minutes before.
Not a bad performance. Could have gotten a draw if a bounce or two went their way. If the Union keep playing like this, and can eliminate the silly errors (M'Baizo falling asleep on runners in the box, and Flach diving in needlessly and giving up PK's) they'll be in fine shape for the playoffs. They hopefully will give America all they can handle on Thursday, and find a way to get a result.
Seems like the worst of both worlds: didn't really rest the regulars and didn't get even 1 point. I wish Curtin would have fully committed to prioritizing the Champions League and resting the regulars. Nevertheless, on to Mexico City!
Who didn't he rest? Other than Glesnes, Elliot and Blake which regular starters played the entire game?
Bedoya, Gazdag, and Wagner were the three I had hoped wouldn’t play at all. In fact, I would have left Bedoya at home given the minutes he has played this season. 20-30 minutes vs NE from those 3 guys, plus travel effort, seems short sighted to me. Sure, none of them played the whole game, but it was a missed opportunity to actually rest them ahead of a huge game.
