Was there any selection criteria applied for the participants? Were these the teams that just missed out on CCL spots? Or is just hand picked?
I like the dates. Should be pretty full capacity in the US as everyone that wants to get vaccinated should be vaccinated at that point. I'm not familiar with what Mexico is doing with regards to stadium capacity, but they are fairly behind on acquiring vaccines, so will likely still be on the covid struggle bus.
They'll probably be on the "cover up covid to boost tourism" bus as they have been for the past year.
Originally it was going to be the top 8 teams that weren't in CCL IIRC, as the Rapids were expecting to play in it this year. Given the compressed season I'm just as happy for them to not have additional fixture congestion.

Remember this tournament is always played in the US only anyway. That said, DCU was supposed to host Puebla this past week and the Mexicans canceled due to COVID, so it could still be a factor

They shouldn't of held it this year. Already a compressed schedule and international breaks ********ing everything up. Sounders are just now getting some people healthy. This tournament can ******** off.
