Geez, that experiment didn't last long. What a pity.

Speculation about possible replacements are plentiful but none lack substance right now, other than Doug Roberson of the AJC suggesting the replacement is expected within a couple weeks.

As to Pity... He's a gifted player that can excel on the right team and Atlanta wasn't it. He isn't a speed demon and essentially needs everyone around him to play complementary styles in order for his creativity to take hold. (See: Ozil, Mesut.) Coming to an Atlanta side that preferred a more up and down pace and lacked the paired creative player the way he had @ River Plate meant Pity was more isolated than he prefers, especially given Barco's stunted development.

Frankly, that Atlanta still profited from this deal is amazing to me. Take it and find a proper fit.

I was thinking he should go on loan to somewhere like Sevilla. A permanent move would be better.

That's what happens if you buy players at the right age and right time in their careers. They can fail but their reputation can go beyond what's actually happened on the pitch.

Also doesn't hurt that the Middle East teams have more money than they know what to do with. I mean, it isn't even like they hide it in their intro videos....

I also like that Twitter labels that video as containing sensitive material.

Doesn't it seem weird that Pity would welcome a move to the middle east at this point in his career? Isn't that usually a mid 30's move ? I'm not saying MLS is all that but I would have thought Europe was where he wanted to be. I guess money talks.

Pity wasn't getting calls from Europe and wanted out of Atlanta. At Al Nassr he'll earn about 3x what got in Atlanta, so financially it was a good move for him and for the club.

Airport selfie w/ Mas on top of multiple confirmed reports.

Do it again Miami! Make him a TAM or Pellegrini a TAM and bring in another DP!

    They owe us. C'monnn...

I doubt Higuain is going to play for under 1.6 million a year. Pellegrini cost somewhere over 8 million apparently so even on a 5 year contract his cap hit would be over the 1.6 million TAM limit.

Also, I'm not even sure they have TAM left at this point to do something like that. They would have started with 2.8 million in TAM this year. Assume Carranza is on a 4 year deal and his transfer fee was at 6 million. That makes his cap number roughly 1.6 million a year (fee/4 + salary) so they'd need to spend 1 million in TAM to get him under the max salary. Matuidi is likely on a max TAM deal so he'd need another million to be bought down. LGP was signed with TAM so there is at least a few grand taken out. Let's say 400k. All together that is 2.4 million in TAM there out of an initial pool of 2.8 million. Now they could have some from extra places like trades, but I doubt they have an extra million sitting around.

Huh. I wasn't sure LAFC had even spent all their expansion money yet.

If Miami were to line up a Modric or some hot shot Colombian attacker, the league could create a CCC slot in response to world market conditions.

12 games left on his contract and he hasn't been starting for a while. Makes sense that the Rapids would try to get something for him while they can.

I think that would make his 8th different MLS team with Columbus twice:

    Columbus
    San Jose
    Houston
    Kansas City
    Columbus
    New England
    Vancouver
    Colorado
    Minnesota?

Considering our healthy options up top right now are Mason Toye and my cat Mittens, it's a good deal.
