Per @PaulTenorio Leandro Gonzalez Pirez is coming back to MLS, this time with #InterMiamiCF. Huge signing for Diego Alonso.https://t.co/Z4b9CYeUiL— Felipe Cárdenas (@FelipeCar) June 19, 2020 This should be entertaining....
I doubt you'll see that many signings this summer. Most teams haven't had enough time to evaluate exactly what their roster is at this point since they only had a couple games. The only moves you'll likely see are ones for players teams already knew they wanted. Usually by now teams can address the spots they know are weak on their team for a run this year or build for next year. This year though we are the summer transfer window is basically just an extension of the winter one.
According to this website Erik Lopez to ATL is a done deal despite the rumors that Juarez of Liga MX offered more for Lopez. https://versus.lanacion.com.py/vers...-erik-lopez-sera-refuerzo-del-atlanta-united/ Also an 'unnamed' MLS team in the coming days will be closing a deal for Rodney Redes out of Club Guarani.
Depends on salary. He isn't horrible, he's just not as good as he was pre-Europe. For the right salary, he could be a serviceable bench player and spot starter.
In a twist to the LGP to Miami saga, apparently he can't play in MLS Is Back since he is a TAM signing.
There isn't a super clear way to tweet about the league's reason why, but I'll try. Via sources, essentially, there was a decision not to sign TAM/DP guys in this 2-day window. Some teams did, but they can't play because MLS wanted to avoid these signings in this window.— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) July 1, 2020
What would you have thought DC should have given to LAFC to get the first spot in the allocation order that's worth Andy Najar? Is $350,000 GAM + a draft pick worth it?
They do, but a) Najar was on the MLS Allocation List where LAFC had the #1 spot, and b) why would DC pay Najar DP wages when LAFC isn't?
I re-watch this episode every couple of years. Makes me bawl nearly 30 years after the original airing.
Homicide: Life on the street. A great show, in some ways a predecessor to The Wire as both were created by David Simon. Braugher's character Frank Pembleton was a master of "the box", interrogations he described as selling a product (a long prison sentence) the customer had no use for. It also had the classic scene where Richard Belzer's character tells a gangbanger not to save his good lies for another detective but to lie to him with respect.
Before there was premium cable there was HLOTS. It is one of the best shows ever and one of the best police shows ever to air. The show's first season was essentially taken from then Baltimore Sun journalist David Simon's book - Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets and made by Barry Levinson's production company. I've been waiting for it to come to Blu-Ray or streaming but that doesn't appear to be in the works for now. My DVD box sets are long in the tooth though I've handbraked the episodes. I just want higher quality.
