I'm just going to do Saturday's games for now. I'll come back for Tuesday's and Wednesday's.

    NC 2-1 POR
    CHI 1-1 WAS

I was going to do a prediction of semifinalists and finalists as well, but I'm not sure how the bracket works as far as who'll end up on each side. Anyone know? I'm also fine in not doing that but just games since no one else has predicted it yet anyway.

No robot predictions for this, I have too much D1 women’s soccer stuff going on. (Imagine tracking 341 teams trying to schedule 15 to 20 matches each over 12 weeks on college campuses in the midst of a pandemic.)

So I’ll just make human predictions.

    Courage 3 v Thorns 1

    Red Stars 2 v Spirit 1

I hereby take back all the predictions I made in post #10 above, which were made before ORL had to drop out and I have some more injury information than I did at that time. Franch being a big one - Eckerstrom is very capable, but for POR to beat or draw NC, they will need a brilliant shot stopper - I'm changing from 1 goal for NC to 2 goals.

NC- 2 POR- 1 ....(The midfield battle could be fascinating).
CHI- 1 WAS- 2 ....(WAS has supplanted HOU as my second favorite team).
HOU- 2 UTA- 1 ....(I read one article that predicited Harringon will go with Smith in goal - she either is the future or not; he needs to find out).
OLR- 2 SB- 1 ....(Dydasco and Pugh being out tipped the scale for me).

    NCC 3 POR 1
    CRS 2 WAS 1

    HOU 0 UTA 1
    OLR 2 SBFC 1

    POR 1 CRS 2
    WAS 1 NCC 3

I'm predicting NCC will win easily. Riley has his troops ready and available -- and the other teams have unanswered questions.

I think for the "ladder" portion, we were thinking of just predicting the 4 SFs, 2 finalists, and winner? I guess I'll do the ladder part too though, just for funsies.

    Code:
    NCC - WWWW -12pts
    DC- - WLDW - 7pts
    NJ- - DWWL - 7pts (low GF)
    RGN - DDDW - 6pts
    UTA - WLDD - 5pts
    POR - LWDL - 4pts
    HOU - LDLL - 1pt
    CHI - LLLD - 1pt (low GF)
This re-done schedule is absolutely awful for Chicago... But from the four QF matches, I'll say
    CHI, DC, POR, RGN
(Yes, NCC upset in the QFs by a team they already beat but historically gives them problems.) Then the two SF winners are
    RGN, POR
setting up an AMAZING rivalry final - and the champion is
    RGN
who go through the tournament undefeated after all those pool play draws

That was the thought, but I don't remember seeing a bracket, so wasn't sure on the bracket set up.

I'm cutting it close to time, but I'll do a ladder prediction, too though since others are. Its usually the part of the prediction I totally screw up, but maybe I can do better in a short tournament.

    1. NCC
    2. Washington
    3. Chicago
    4. Portland
    5. OL Reign
    6. Sky Blue

Bracket is a traditional 8-team bracket with no reseeding each round.

I came home late, and I anyway was under the impression that almost no-one was trying the ladder-prediction. I suppose now i'll have to get the penalty, since NCC-POR is underway and 0-0 after 1st Half. Not a great problem, after all, because I am never good at ladder predictions, to the point that I'll go with an unispired choice: teams with Japanese players tend to the top! :p

    My ladder:
    1 - Chicago
    2 - NCC
    3 - Reign
    4 - Sky Blue
    5 - Portland
    6 - Utah
    7 - Wasgington
    8 - Houston

Subsequently: Chicago, Washington (upsets NCC with Yokoyama's goal :D), Reign, Sky Blue.

Then I am not sure if the bracket is "locked" and who should meet who (and I can't seem to find any info about that on the NWSL website). Let's assume, if possible, that Chiacago and Reign advance to the final.

Then it's hard, because they're my favourite teams in NWSL and Reign already lost two finals, but I guess Red Stars will take their revenge from last year and will win the whole thing even without Kerr. :p

I missed this prediction thread, is it okay if I join in late skipping the first two matches and do the rest of the matches this first week?

    HOU 1 UTA 2
    OLR 2 SBFC 1

    POR 3 CRS 2
    WAS 2 NCC 2

I'll do a ladder for fun but again, its unfair to count after I've already watched the two matches today.

    2. NCC
    3. Chicago
    4. Portland
    5. Reign
    6. Sky Blue

I guess it could be included with a penalty, like mine.

I know when I made my ladder predictions, I said I thought UTA would beat HOU... But looking at those injury reports, I'm really doubting that now. Still sticking with my draw for RGN-NJ though

    1-1 all

I stick to my previous predictions, despite the additional info from the injury report and the change of scenery after the first two games.

I'm going to stick with my earlier predictions also -- although I'm tempted to change my prediction that NC will win 3-1 over Washington to a 2-1 NC win.

Washington is a fun team to watch and looked good against Chicago.

Say, @cpthomas has said he is very busy right now; is there someone here who can help keeping score? I can’t help with it myself.

Based on the injury report for tomorrow, I'm not changing my W/D/L predictions from my ladder post, but I think both games will be close:

2-1 in favor of NC and POR, repsectively
