LAG would be smart to send him to a special trainer to prepare him for 2021- his lack of conditioning could result in more injuries-- 2020 is a bust for LAG anyways

They probably already are investing in a trainer, they would be idiots not to. Perhaps he is just milking it and doesn't care AKA Gerrard.

GAME VS SAN JOSE- 2-1 WIN:

    1. He got it right-
head coach MDS placed ricketts into the starting line-up and at the half, moved dajome to the left attack- both were significant decisions that brought us the win

    2. Cant take it away from them- our MF duo of owusu and bikel worked their socks off and chased every ball and commited to every tackle

    3. BUT- with a creative, dynamic MF general, what could this team be ?? we only had 39% possession

    4. Do we have to say it again ??- we got to admit that jake is consistent with his lack of coverage at the backpost- is he dim-witted ?? every team knows it and constantly goes for it-- what can MDS do ?? it has to be addressed or we wont make the playoffs -- what would you do as its too late to bring in another RB ?

    5. The cannon fires- the howitzer of a free kick by ali was stunning- no goalie in the world would have got that - i wonder where he will be for 2021

    6. Would you make an offer ?- what to do with montero for 2021.. if he wants to stay ??

Nerwinski had to move towards the center to cover the most immediate danger. Then he was screwed as far as getting back to man outside.

I think he was stuck having to mark two guys and chose the more centrally positioned threat.

i do know that veselinovic tends to ball watch, takes his eye off of a central striker- then jake goes over to cover and VOILA!!! there is a n empty attacker behind jake

so you are partly right- it isnt just jake at fault- but teams know it is an achllles heel for our defence- MDS- besides hounding jake- has to come up with a solution- its just costing us too many critical goals

    GAME VS SEATTLE- 0-2 LOSS:

actually considering the line-up without 7 regular starters, we played as well as we could with the replacements against a rested, full line-up Sounder team- same thing happened to TFC vs phillie and the Reds got bombed 0-5

MLS still has a long way to go with having a competitive 18-20 players- take away the top 6 players and the league's quality falls off the cliff

the league and its owners must be taking a financial bath since there are no game revenues, so seeing teams upgrading for 2021 with new and better starting and bench players that cost a lot more $$$$$$$$$$$$ is rarely going to happen

MDS is teflon; Axel won't fire him it seems.

i agree- MDS and his staff stay for 2021

off-loading adnan, maybe crepeau and down-sizing montero's contract might be the only way for the caps to upgrade in the MF without costing the owners any money- they probably have made money for davies progress in germany, so that money has to be added into getting new players - money available would be in the $3 mill range

we dont need any more bikels, owusus or dajomes (average players at best in MLS) - the trick is to spend wisely on that magical, inspiring AMF leader who probably is older and will come with no transfer fee... but he has been quality and can give us another 2 years from his tank

and i have little confidence that MDS and Axel can actually do that - with the money available, you and i would have done a better job at signing new players for the past 2 years- we still have the weakest MF in MLS and until that is upgraded, we will continue with being a bottom-feeder

and how many years have we been saying the same thing ??????

unfortunately, the owners are all Captain Obvious

    GAME VS PORTLAND- 0-1 LOSS:

    1. What did you expect ???--
we had 3 DMFs- teibert, owusu, bikel- creativity and offensive penetrations were very few

    2. Anything to like ?? -- the unity and effort has been very good for the last 3 months- long short on talent, usually lots of effort

    3. Its time to put the nag in the barn- the season is over and what happens in this the off-season will tell us a lot about axel schuster- if he lets MDS and his staff do the scouting, we are in trouble- its time for axel to reach out to his supposed contacts for 2-3 talented players

    4. Can i say it AGAIN ??-- piss on the owners for ruining the name and the franchise in a very good market

    5. Montero was poor, especially in the second half. Poor passing decisions and execution and not enough support for Cavallini up top. I guess he was nursing a knock from training but regardless, he didn't have it tonight.

our 3 DMFs worked their socks off, so i am not questioning their efforts

jake escaped from goals at the back post- he was a little deeper, but he still magnetizes to the middle - he and veselinovic need to work in tandem

bair needs to play someplace else for 2021- he is making no progress and looks like he needs a fresh start, especially if MDS is back

dajome rarely gets a shot on goal, but his crosses are good, but with only cava in the middle, few end up positively

godoy is the back-bone of the defence

    LOOKING AHEAD:

    would you sign milinkovic??
would you try to sell/trade adnan? is gutierrez ready to replace him ?
which 2 goalies would you keep- bush, hasal or crepeau ?
would you replace nerwinski and spend $$$ for another RB ?
if you were cornelius, would you try to blow dodge ?
which is our best MF that should be a starter in 2021 - teibert, owusu or bikel ?
if the MLS opens to fans attending games, will you renew/buy STs ?

With Montero playing as deeply as he does, and defensive mid on the left wing (Teibert), it's no wonder there is only Cavallini up top.

If you want to get a DP attacker, spend it on an inverted winger/flank striker on the left in a 4-3-3, an upgrade on Milinkovic. So many teams in this league thrive on the attack with that kind of player (the injured Blanco, Vela, Rossi, Piatti) who can finish as well as create.

GAME VS LAG-- 3-0 win: thoughts--

    1. Who blows dodge-
certainly bair and cornelius for the good of their professional careers- its hard to pry the pine splinters out of your buttocks

    2. What to do with these ?- montero and adnan, both high-costing DPs, have to be on axel's radar to get a 1-way ticket

    3. Which one ?- 3 goalies. only 2 can stay- who leaves? crepeau offers $$$$ because he is young and has good quality

    4. Is he worth it ? - does baldisimo warrant a permanent shot as a MF starter? he isnt the needed AMF to take the team to the promise land of the playoffs

    5. Will he ?- does owner jeff mallet have the courage, the balls, to come to vancouver and face the media and supporters with inane comments that the owners will improve their investment in the Club and make a push to be a top-drawer team in MLS

    6. Do you believe ?-- will the Caps re-capture the market with a much better team?

    7. Money, money, money- how many STs will the Caps have- if there is a regular season (we had 15 K)

Damiano Pecile- gotta feel sorry for him- MDS left his subbing in too late and the game ended with him not even touching the ball - what a memory of his first entry into a MLS game ! MDS should be embarrassed for this mistake - a phone call from damiano's father is in order

MDS gets too mentally and emotionally involved in the games and looses himself
