Good call. I mean, you look at those fixtures and the first thing you think is 'that's brutal'. But if you take QPR out of the equation, you've got five days between Wycombe and 'udders, and then another five days until Coventry. With the international break leading into Millwall ... really, it's not really any worse than the typical saturday/tuesdays you get in the League. ... as long as you don't invest too much effort into QPR. And how viable that will be, of course, will depend upon results between now and the 13th.
Yeah it would, I can't see that at all though. Our form throughout the season suggests we should pick up 6pts from those 6 games but they're a bit of an easier run in and we've been playing better in the last month or two so 6-9pts most likely. I'm hoping for 3 wins and maybe a draw or two at least. I think the most important thing is we don't lose to Birmingham and Coventry. Which reminds me, I had a nightmare the other night that Brum were beating us 6-4 or something silly, felt like a win when I woke up and realised it was only a dream.
Crap day, Wood sent off mid-second half, conceded a goal and then missed a penalty late on. About the only good thing to happen is Coventry losing, need Swansea to beat Birmingham tonight.
That's two Birmingham matches I've watched recently where teams you'd expect to thrash them have been absolutely dire and deservedly lost, they've either turned things around under Bowyer or they're lucky with timing playing out of form teams. Either way it doesn't bode well for us if we don't pick up a few wins, we play Wycombe next and even they look decent now.
I half expected us not to win just didn't expect us to get so soundly beaten, I think we probably underestimated them. There's still hope yet though...
It's starting to look a little bleak but I suppose we can go all out against Coventry now as Birmingham are no longer a relegation rival, we're probably going to need to try and get something at QPR though and losing to Coventry is now unthinkable. A win today would have been massive but alas...
We've shown fight nearly all season we just lack quality and composure in front of goal, yesterday was another case of 2pts dropped. It's frustrating that we seem to have so many games where we play well, miss some absolute sitters and come away without the win that the performance deserves.
Great performance and more importantly a great result, absolutely huge game on Thursday now.... (and it's televised)
Massive one upcoming. Win that and Coventry are shitting themselves. I mean, they're shitting themselves now, but if they get something from it, it'll settle their nerves a bit. And if they win it ... let's just say Rotherham must get something from this one.
If we lose it's going to make things tremendously difficult for us but even then Huddersfield have been in poor form for quite some time and Derby have 1 win in 10, some injuries and a trophy manager who hasn't got a clue. They'll probably be Coventry's biggest supporters tonight because if we win they're right back in it.
Maybe. But you've still got the games in hand; and they won't want to be looking up the table at Coventry. ... hmm. I was thinking I'd probably (were I either Derby or 'udders) prefer a draw ... keeping two strugglers between myself and the drop. That said, having thought through all the permutations, I'm guessing you're right. Keeping the 4-5 point gap would be worth banking on, as even with the two games in hand, that would have to translate into two Rotherham wins to erase it. All the more reason to win it today! The more teams in the mix for that last relegation spot, the more interesting and exciting it is. COYM!
A Coventry volley pushed on to the bar in the first minute. Almost a nightmare start, but nicely saved.
Coventry squander a brilliant opportunity as the ball falls favorably to O'Hare. Brilliantly saved by Johansen(sic) only to have the rebound put over the bar. Coventry definitely on the front foot thus far.
