Derby appointed Rooney as permanent manager the day before playing us presumably expecting to turn us over, whoops!
We're still just about keeping our heads above water in the grand scheme of things but performances have certainly improved and 3-0 flattered Middlesbrough given the chances we created. Long may our current form (and results) continue!
Another nightmare set of results for us, it probably doesn't help that the teams around us have strengthened and all we've managed to do is a sign a player (on loan) who can't even get a place in a team we've just beat 3-0. While we've still got games in hand there's hope but with other teams picking up it's starting to look like Wycombe, us and Birmingham are the favourites to be relegated.
"Wayne Rooney's" Derby the gift that keeps on giving. I was all braced to be disappointed tonight but the train is still on the tracks.
When the match got postponed the other day Derby fans were saying it's because we were scared to play them due to their recent form, which has resulted in some funny responses. tHeY'rE sCaReD tO pLaY uS #rufc #dcfc pic.twitter.com/BwHEKBRRg4— Mark Proctor (@markproctor58) February 3, 2021
Derby fans are now making out they'd rather play beautiful flowing football and lose than play like us and be successful, I'd like to see them try to play like Brazil and win in this league on our budget. Their rookie manager Rooney is probably earning more than our team combined.
Can guarantee if they made it to the Premier League they wouldn't mind how they played if it meant staying up.
I was going to have a whinge before kick off because Warne made unforced changes to rotate players, my argument was going to be we should field our best starting 11 against teams like Preston as there's no guarantee we'll get anything against the top teams fully rested/full strength anyway. Warne looks like a genius now though 3 pts and rested players, really damn proud of this squad.
