Probably not. The VP of marketing will report directly to Lyons and will be a pretty senior hire, from what I can tell from the job posting: https://www.velvetjobs.com/job-posting/vp-marketing-with-columbus-crew-in-columbus-oh-p37252578 Certainly, someone with a far deeper resume than anyone else on that marketing team. Now, whether anyone already there "could" do that kind of work - or take a whack at it - I have no idea. But I doubt Lyons would let them even try.
I went with 3rd/4th but now without a jersey sponsor I can see them miss the playoffs. * The above comment is pure sarcasm and pokes fun at all the jersey sponsorship panic setting in through multiple threads.
There is no panic, only disappointment. The sun will rise tomorrow and Nationwide will write a fat check in about 11 months.
Why would Nationwide want to have their name on a stadium that's just down the street from the arena they have naming rights for?
I think the popular theory is that Nationwide will be the jersey sponsor in the new stadium. I'm in agreement with those who are of the opinion that having two buildings sponsored by Nationwide on Nationwide Blvd might not be the best use of marketing dollars.
As for conflicting sponsors, it seems that there is some possibility that a team wearing a Nationwide jersey would be playing in MAPFRE stadium for awhile next season until the new stadium is finished. (Someone beat me to Honda on Fire jerseys in Toyota Park.)
I voted for 5th-7th. I think Atlanta, DC, and NYCFC will for sure be better. Toronto and Philly should be good. NYRB? What a weird offseason for them. NE still doesn't look great on paper, but Arena worked some real magic there, can't deny it. Chicago, Cincy, and Miami will all suck. Montreal will suck until they fire Theirry Henry. Orlando, who knows.
Yeah, but DC has Gressel now, so not the worst injury. Still have a front four of Ola, Asad, Rodriguez, and Gressel. That’s solid.
mls "personalities" give their picks Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Ben Baer: 4th in East Marcelo Balboa (Univision): 1st in East Calen Carr: 8th in East Charlie Davies: 7th in East Matt Doyle: 4th in East Kristian Jack (TSN): 5th in East Frederic Lord (TVA Sports): 6th in East
Yup. Wouldn't surprise me if they won the shield same as finishing mid-table. What would shock me is not making the playoffs with this roster.
I voted before the final pre-season game of expected full number ones vs an MLS side. Certainly a sign.
Looks like I'm among the biggest group of Kool-Aid drinkers. 55.7% of us think we'll get a home playoff match. I mean, why the hell not be optimistic? At least until we embarrass ourselves at home next Sunday, right?
I think he is just not as good with his weak foot as Pedro who can play either side. But maybe your right maybe that’s how Porter sees it
actually, 75.4% of us think we will get a home playoff game. only those fake fans with loser mentalities who voted to finish 5th, 6th or 7th dont think we will.
