I think we should get a group together to go to the game on February 19th. We can charter a plane for the trip and show the front office how the team should travel.
First scrimmage/pre-season contest. Largely a reserve/experimental side got thumped by Atlanta's choice (or close to a first 11 as they can get) side. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...past-philadelphia-union-4-0-behind-pity-josef
No stream for today’s game either. @PhilaUnion Fans: Reminder that today's scrimmage vs CHI is closed to the public. pic.twitter.com/aSrUtqctgZ— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) February 1, 2020
I dont know much about what it takes to play a 3-5-2 system. Anybody here think we might be going to this? Who would plug in at each spot?
Anybody got any details about the match last night? Looks like the Union won 1-0 on a goal by Kacper but other than that tidbit from a story on the MLS website I can't find any info. They didn't have lineups for the Union and the livestream angle was worse that a middle school tiddlywinks match filmed from the top of the gym.
Good coverage here: https://twitter.com/BrotherlyGame First half: Santos, Przybylko, Aaronson, Fontana, Bedoya, Oravec, Gaddis, Real, Glesnes, McKenzie, Freese. 4-4-2 Second half: Freese, Mbaizo, McKenzie, Collin, Gaddis, El Brujo, Turner, Aaronson, Fontana, De Vries, Ngalina. 4-2-3-1 Union had the possession and the better chances. Definitely looked like the better team. Here is the goal: Kiiiinda think that Sergio Santos is going to break out this year if he stays healthy. Also this is a hell of a pass from Bedoya. pic.twitter.com/NkoJT7SwRV— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) February 6, 2020

@PhilaUnion linin' up for for today's scrimmage vs CIN.#DOOP | @VSPC pic.twitter.com/npPjzlE7xv— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) February 12, 2020 Union lost 1-0. Probable opening day lineup with Wagner for Real if he is healthy.
So what’s the big secret about preseason matches? Why not stream them all? At this point, they could be broadcast from an iPhone XI at 60fps at 1080p. There is quite literally zero expense.
No stream today for the match against Inter-Miami (or whatever they will have to change the name to after they lose the lawsuit) today either.
1-1 at the half. Santos scores off an Aaronson pass. Homegrown➡️Santos➡️⚡️⚡️⚡️#DOOP | @AaronsonBrenden | @VSPC pic.twitter.com/OBfGEojZax— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) February 15, 2020
For some reason 538 has the Union at 4th in power rankings: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/mls/ Ives has us 10th.
